Time is of the essence as the Fins attempt to improve their QB position. With free agency starting on Tuesday, I do not believe the Fins can wait too long as Matt Flynn comes free Tuesday at 4pm.

I have advocated the signing of Peyton Manning since November. I was called a fool for saying he would be cut and that was no chance he would be kept or traded. Willing to roll the dice, I would attempt to shoot for the stars and sign Manning.

However, if Manning dithers on his decision into Wednesday, I would pivot and move to Matt Flynn. I have also supported the idea of signing Matt Flynn especially after the naming of Joe Philbin as HC. IF Philbin advocates the signing of Flynn, believing that Flynn can be a top 15 starter, I would make the move.

I would have different emotions if either is signed. However, I would feel confident that good things were in store for the franchise.

Manning would equal the hope of him getting back to his elite level and putting the Fins in the mix to get to the playoffs and make a run while in the tournament. On the other hand, Flynn would make me feel confident that he is running a system he understands while still having some upside to improve. Flynn also has a number of years to be under center for Miami.

I would be happy with both, but Miami must be aggressive and cover themselves at the games most important position.

It was reported by Jason LaConfora that Flynn is waiting to wait to see where Manning goes. However, I would not trust that notion and be aggressive and attempt to get one of the two QB's.

To quote the late great MadDog....Flynn doesn't make my toes tingle

He might make you tingle when you see him working under Philbin and Sherman coaching. I always thought one of the best parts of Philbin becoming HC is the prospect of Flynn coming with him.

Flynn won't put butts in the seats. Especially after whiffing on Manning.

WINNING will put fannies in the seats. Manning would give a great boost at the start NO QUESTION. However, if Manning struggled out of the gates and the team was not winning the orange seats would emerge once again.

Manning is still my first choice. However, I am willing to support Matt Flynn just as much without hesitation.
