My rant and take on Ross/Sparano/Ireland

The key is what Ross does with Ireland. If he keeps Ireland we miss out on the big name coaches. I wouldn't want to come in and work under Ireland who has been ok at best.

enough with the "clean house" crap.

we need some new pieces esp tony, but clean house is not the answer.

i think the clemons/jones and burnett/crowder are what hurt us the most. without crowder we have no run defense and without clemmons our coverage sucks. ireland thought he was making the right move with burnett and 90 percent of this board liked it but the team HATED it. that move is one of the single most reasons why this team is 0-4 i dont care what u say- i will stick by that. take away those horrid defensive "performances" and we may be 2-2. this D has forced a total of what? like 5 punts over 4 games? its a JOKE. i say bring back crowder right now, start clemmons over jones etc.
either way though. if tony stays there is a good chance we are 0-16 or 2-14 or something like that - puttin gus in prime place for luck or another top 2-3 QB. which im cool with. Ireland was so desperate for a QB he wanted to go after Orton. whether he is here or not next season - we are drafting a qb round 1 mark my words.

I really do think that Crowder had a lot to do with the proper communication with our defense. currently our players always seem to be lost or just out of position. I dont think Dansby is stepping up as the Mike....and Im actually starting to think he's a bit dumb.

And the fact that the people in charge couldn't make that assessment suggests they're dumb.

It's so amusing that when Ross bought the team no-one wanted him to touch the football side of the business. Now everyone is flaming him for it. Can't have it both ways.

Ross has merely tried to improve the overall football experience at the stadium. Something they do in every big market. No big deal.

The problem is, the team he inherited.. yes inherited. don't forget that Huizenga put this current regime together, hasn't kept their side of the bargain. Ross isn't stupid. He just isn't being reactionary simply for the sake of it. If he fired everyone tomorrow, he would be praised to no end here. The cost would be a downward spiral that isn't equatable at the moment. So he is being patient and waiting for the right opportunity.

I believe Ross is a very good owner. He bought the team with certain provisions attached.. like keeping Parcells, Ireland, and Sparano. Now that those chains have been removed, I expect him to firmly put his footprint on this team in the off season.

Exactly.. Ross has very smartly not said a word but status quo drivel. Which is exactly what he should do.

I have no doubt he is already being advised, and consulted. He will make a move.. when the time is right.

He doesn't have to say a word to anybody.

It is ironic how you all play with two different sets of cards. Sparano should be gone after season 3 (last year) and Ross gets credit for something that did not happen (trying to get the best up and coming coach). Ross is in its 4th year of ownership and 3rd year as majority owner. We are still hanging on to the staff which should have been gone last year. You might as well give Sparano credit for all the wins which didn't happen.

At this point in time Ross deserves criticism just like Sparano and Ireland and co. The team did not improve under his ownership, the opposite, we regressed.

I think he probably would have pulled the plug on this regime last year if it hadn't been for the lockout. Too many unknowns, so he decided to ride this year out and hope for the best. Now that the Parcells shackles are gone, and the cba handled, Henne and Sparano will have had their chances. Plus waiting a year to use a high first rounder on a qb will end up being a smart move due to the new rookie wage scale, which wasn't in place for this past draft.

This year sucks, but we will end up in better shape for it. Kind of like Pat Riley being patient and planning 2 years ahead to have the cap space to sign LeBron, Wade and Bosh. The incoming regime will have no excuses - a core group of decent young talent, and the ability to hand pick their franchise qb.
