still thinkin that we r gonna carry 6 wrs which means we keep thompson and cut minor...morris basically do the same things that minor can do and still run better than him

Mann was my last cut. I don't really like Minor too much, but I think he may stay if for no other reason than this: Ricky is suspended for the first four games. Ronnie is a rookie reporting three weeks late to camp. That leaves Morris, who I like, and the unreliable ones, Gordon and Minor. I think they stay at least through the first four games. Mann will hopefully be on the PS and come up when needed.

Nice but as mentioned in the recent Finheaven news item you will probably see TE Lorenzo Diamond making the team. Apparently he's ahead of Donald Lee right now. I also think we'll keep Travis Minor for special teams, as you have, and I like how you have Evans and Sammy Morris for FB instead of putting Morris at HB and Martin in at FB as most people have been doing.

:)

how do you have feeley making the team over berlin? feeley has no upside or any potential. weve already seen everything he has to offer...or yet everything he doesnt have to offer. berlin looks like a much better investment.

I took your list and changed it to my opinion...hope you don't mind...easier then typing it all out myself...:D

OFFENSE: (26)

QB:
1. Gus Frerrotte
2. A.J. Feeley
3. Sage Rosenfels

(Agree....and I think Berlin makes the practice squad)

RB:
1. Ricky Williams
2. Ronnie Brown
3. Lamar Gordon
4. Travis Minor

My opinion.

1. Ricky Williams
2. Ronnie Brown
3. Sammy Morris
4. Travis Minor

(I think Gordon gets cut or traded. He is showing nothing right now. Morris and Minor are too valuable onb special teams to let go. When you are a third string running back, which Gordon is at this point, you better do more then just run the football. Morris is a tailback anyway. Working the depth this way lets you keep the best reserve players.)

FB:
1. Heath Evans
2. Sammy Morris

My opinion.

FB:
1. Heath Evans
2. Jamar Martin

(Sammy is a tailback and is listed that way on the depth chart. Martin is too good a lead blocker to just cut)

WR:
1. Chris Chambers
2. Marty Booker
3. David Boston
4. Bryan Gilmore
5. Wes Welker

(I agree, although you could see Newson or Mann stick and we keep one less defensive lineman on the active roster. I think Mann goes to the practice squad though.)

TE:
1. Randy McMichael
2. Donald Lee
3. Ed Perry

My opinion.

TE:
1. Randy McMichael
2. Lorenzo Diamond
3. Ed Perry

(Don Lee is a stiff. I thought with the new staff he would finally blossom. Wrong. I think Rader and or Holmes end up on the practice squad. Linehan likes his tight ends so I think we could keep four.)

O-LINE:
1. Vernon Carey
2. Jeno James
3. Rex Hadnot
4. Frank Middleton
5. Stockar McDougle
6. Damien McIntosh
7. Seth McKinney
8. John St. Calir
9. Anthony Alabi

I agree.

DEFENSE: (27)

D-LINE:
1. Jason Taylor
2. David Bowens
3. Matt Roth
4. Kevin Carter
5. Vonnie Holliday
6. Keith Traylor
7. Jeff Zgonina
8. Kevin Vickerson
9. Manuel Wright
10. Josh Shaw

I agree. I don't think we keep them all on the active roster. I think Shaw or Vickerson end up on the practice squad to begin with, although exposing them there could be a risk.

LB:
1. Donnie Spragan
2. Zach Thomas
3. Junior Seau
4. Channing Crowder
5. Jason Glenn
6. Derrick Pope

I agree.

DB:
1. Sam Madison
2. Travis Daniels
3. Reggie Hoawrd
4. Kris Richard
5. Tebuckey Jones
6. Lance Schulters
7. Yeremiah Bell
8. Travares Tillman
9. Mario Edwards

I agree. Although I do think Mario Edwards and Richard are teetering on the edge. I think they will battle to the end. Richard is a prime practice squad candidate.

K:
1. Olindo Mare

P:
1. Matt Turk

I agree.

I think with Linehan running so many 3 WR sets, we need to keep 6 WRs, which means either Thompson or Mann will make the team. Probably the one who does more on special teams. Also, for everyone who thinks Minor will be cut, remember that he's another special teams guy, and Jamar Martin may be squeezed out by the H-back thing. All Martin can do is block at FB and play special teams, whereas Diamond can play H-back, TE, and special teams.

I disagree...and Minor does more then return kicks...he is also very good on special teams coverages.

Kay Jay seems destined for the practice squad.

imo kay jay is as good as gordon or minor did you see him in the bears game stiff arm that bear d player and put him on his $ss he runs alot like ricky and as big as ricky was when he won the rushing title not saying he will but i like the guy and hpoe saban plays him in the steelers game this kid has alot of upside about him and he will be a good fit in our system

I'm fairly certain we will keep 6 Wr's. We may also keep Bua around because of his special teams ability. I think that Thompson is doomed; his spot will go to either Mann or Newson. Mann is clearly ahead of newson at this point, but Newson has awesome physical ability and he still has 3 more games to show it on the field. We tend to judge everything by what happens in the games, but a player making a few nice plays doesn't guarantee him a spot.
