Ok I watched the whole game with great emphasis on Henne and the other rookies. Here are some pretty good observations I noticed during the game and things the Dolphins need to work on if they are going to beat the Jets and N.O. in coming weeks because let’s face it the Jets and N.O. are NOT the Bills.

First off the goods or pluses:

1) I will start right off with Henne and his performance. He looked good enough to get the job done and managed the game well. The offense seemed to run well with him under center.
2 )No turnovers!!!!
3 )6 sacks, ok you say, how can you say 6 sacks are a plus? I would rather see an inexperienced QB taka a sack then fore a throw. No matter how you slice it 2nd and 15 is better then 1st and 10 the other way.
4) Finally some shots down the field!!!! I know there were no long completions so to speak of but look at those throws down field! Finial you back the safeties out of the box.
5) 5+ yards rushing per attempt. Perfect.
6) The Wildcat continues to evolve. I found the stat they showed about the Wildcat fascinating the rest of the NFL only has about 650 yards of total offence with the wildcat while Miami has 900+ by themselves. That my friend is thinking with your dipstick, Jimmie!
7) Grove did a nice job with Stroud. Stroud is a big fat nasty man and while there was some double teaming going on Grove seemed to hold his own in the middle.
8) Finally some interceptions.
9) 46 yards rushing against! D-line got is done.
10) Cam Wake and JT nice game finally some pressure kudos to the rook!
11) Camarillo is finally starting to get his true form back.

All right the bad and things to get better in order to beat some quality team:

1) Let me start with Henne again. He only tried to force one throw that I noticed in the end zone to Fasano. It was alright because it was on a line but still not a good choice.
2) I also noticed Henne floated a few passes particularly in the End zone. Let’s hope he doesn’t do that in the middle of the field or that will be a pick by a safety.
3) Ginn has to find away to become involved in the passing game. I was a huge advocate of giving him three years to develop but wow if you can not manage more then 4 yards against the Bills secondary. The kid has more speed then anyone on the field I sure hope he figures out soon how to be a receiver because at this rate he isn’t getting the job done.
4) Can someone please kick the kick return team in the *** and the special teams coach also! Does anyone else hold their breath every time Miami kicks off!! I mean how many 30+ yard returns can you give up! Cover the dam ball please 147 return yards! That is not thinking with your Dipstick!
5) Fall on the ball! That onsides kick wasn’t recovered by the return team until the pile formed and that is BS! See above statement.
6) Secondary gave up some long balls they shouldn’t of. The coverage is young I know but they shouldn’t be giving up some of the long passes they have giving. Technique is to blame on most of them the receiver turns them around and then separates because the CB is out of position they should be in better position from the start.
7) While the LB play improved it still needs to be ratcheted up several notches before I say nice things about it. Bell shouldn’t be the leading tackler for the game on defense.
8) Sacks! I know I said above it was a good thing but a better thing is to throw the ball away when possible. Henne is young and will progress give it time.
9) TE play has to improve, bottom line.

Well the road is still long Dol-fans but this team is getting better week to week. If Henne can play relatively mistake free ball I see good things down the road. He will have some great tests in the next two weeks with the JETS D and then N.O. I hope Henne watches some game film this week. The JETS love this blitz below:

Henne must pick up and read this blitz or he will struggle all day. It is the bread and butter of the JETS right now. That outside receiver must settle in right behind the void left by the inside corner blitz and pick up a tough 5 or 6 yards on the slant. It’s going to happen and it needs to be read. I know the passing formation isn’t one the Dolphins run but this blitz can come disgusted in many packages and must be picked up via audible.
