I see a lot posters making comments like "they just to just shut up and play", "more play less talk", "stop with the stupid celebrations", etc,. If trash talking is done before the game, it has a habit of inspiring the opponent and putting your *** on the line. Usually, pre-game trash talking backfires. This kind of smack talk I don't really appreciate. However, it can spark some energy on a team to get hyped up about the game.
Now, for celebrations, trash talking, and everything else IN-GAME i'm all about. If you've ever played competitive sports (not casual play backyard ****), you would know that if you can get fired up during the game you'll play with tons more energy and motivation. If you have a teammate start getting rowdy after a big play, it energizes you to come back and play at a much higher level. The flywheel celebration is a great thing that will help bring the Defense together and at the same time start crushing the confidence of the opposing team. Have you ever started losing or were losing a game with the other team just rubbing it in your face? It's pretty demoralizing.
A great man once said "Football is 90% mental, 10% physical." Although I dont agree with the actual percentages, it has its point clear as day. Morale, motivation, and energy play HUGE parts during game time.
I look forward to seeing flywheel after flywheel, game after game.
