I and many other Dolfans were very disappointed in what we witnessed in AJ Feeley today. He didn't look good at all. He looked like a 3rd string backup today. Even Berlin threw the ball better. I know it's only mincamp but Gus look light yrs ahead of Feeley. Gus is accurate, and makes quick decisions with the ball. AJ on the other hand took longer to relase the abll even when they played w/o any passrush in his face. He even threw a couple of bad ints. I was rooting for Feeley. But today reminded me of last yr when Fiedler outplayed in camp.

I'm not gonna make any excuses for the guy. I've seen many QBs adjust to new offenses like Aikman, Trent Green, & just to name a few. I don't recall ever seeing a QB struggle w/ the offense in Minn. Maybe AJ really isn't the guy man. I was hoping he was. But I truly think Saban's gonna look into next yrsdraft for the QB of the future. From what the fans who attened camp since Friday, AJ Feeley's perfromance has been horrible.

So I guess AJ is not the guy after 3 days of mini-camp...Saban even said it himself that it's a learning process right now..If he struggles with no pressure on him, that tells you something..He doesn't know the offense yet..

The guy looks bad. I'm sorry, but good QBs don't struggle with new offenses. If they brought in a WC offense, that's something else. But this is a very QB friendly offense. Maybe you should attend camp. The guy is stinking it up out there. The only reason AJ is here is becuz of the 2nd rd pick that was given up for him. It hurts me to say it but Gus is the better QB. Gus might be a journeyman. But I always thought he was one of the best backups in the league. He did start for 2 Washington and Denver.

Michael Vick did not struggle with the new West COast offense, did he??

It's just a bit early to write him off just yet, let's not forget Gus has played in this system for four years. On a better note Sage looked great in the afternoon. Wonder if he will get any serious consideration?

New offense or not, you're right, a good QB - or even a decent one- doesn't struggle in 7 o n 7 drills with no real pressure. No pads, no pressure. It's just WRs running the same routes they always run in different offenses. In the drills they are running right now, it doesn't really matter what offense they are running - he shouldn't be struggling to simply complete passes.

It's a learning process right now, you can't judge players on this. This is just them learning the system. Thats all these practices are good for, they are not good for evaluating talent. When they put the pads on for actual training camp then we see whats going on. If Aj doesn't cut the mustard then well we know who the starter will be. AJ needs to study study and study more heh. I am not worried about whats going on right now since it's just a learning process for so many.

yet if he had played well, you'd be singing endless praises....:shakeno: , but because he performed poorly, yet again, its excuse after excuse

regardless, I'm very glad that overall Gus has looked good. That makes me feel very comfortable that somebody has taken command. I knew that he knows the offense, and its definitely a good sign that he's been showing good arm strength, and good decision making in the face of pressure.

I'm sorry man. Even the coach was yelling at AJ to get rid of the ball cuz he took to long to throw the ball w/ no one in his face. There were open RBs to dump it off to you know. Man even last yr, he couldn't take poo Fiedler's job away, until politics played into the situation. There are alot of Philly fans that will tell you this guy isn't good as well. Some differ. But even when he played in Philly, the defense really did all the work. He did nothing but too control of the offense as far as not turning over the ball. It's not like he tore it up in the passing game.

I am so sick and tired fo people riding Feeley's jock. IF MINICAMP DOESN'T MATTER..WHY HAVE IT!?!? Feeley has looked like nothing better than a 2nd string QB at the highest level of his performance since coming to Miami. Every fan around the NFL except for a portion of Dolphin fans, agrees that Feeley IS NOT the answer and can't get it done. Now...add to all this the fact he looks absolutely horrendous this weekend again...and it isn't too hard to realize the lickely scenario that is going to play out with him! The guy is 28 yrs old, is physically large enough to play the position, and has been in the NFL for like 4-5 years now....it's clear by now he just isn't going to be a QB that starts and excels! People who do nothing but make excuses and keep saying: "It's only minicamp", or "Lets wait till the pads get on" or "give him some type to adapt to the new offense"..are just those who do not want to accept the truth. It's the same dang thing the Fiedler supporters did for his first 3 years here (which consequently wasted a lot of our time).

Mark my words, sticky this post if you want...but Gus Frerotte is going to be Miami's starting QB this year.

Very well put. I agree 100%. But you won't stop all the ridiculous excuses.

Essentially thats what he was (a 3rd stringer) to everyone but the great Wannstedt regime who over reacted by giving a 2nd rounder away for him.

c'mon man, give feeley a break. he played behind the worst o-line in nfl history, the worst running backs in nfl history, and the worst coach in nfl history. who could succeed under those conditions? i bet you that marino, elway, or even the good lord himself would not do half as good as feeley did last year. he was awesome at the end of the season and showed flashes of an elite qb. i mean, he averaged almost 6 ypc in december, that has to count for something. how about his amazing performance vs the browns- he threw 50 passes and almost broke the 200 yard mark- dude was in a zone. with an improved offense, feeley will be a pro-bowler- mark it down.

yep, unfortunately we are going to have to put up with this crap ALL YEAR, just like we did with Fiedler versus "X" the last 5 years.

AJ Feeley is a good backup...nothing more, nothing less...and it amazes me with so many knowledgeable football people here, some can't understand that. Feeley is not going to magically turn into a solid starter in 2 months if he hasn't done it in 4-5 years! If you think he will, it is hopes and dreams on your part.

I don't dislike Feeley, I don't wish misfortune on his performance, but man...I can see reality and the fact that if you play like garbage (flashes of good play as we saw last year do not cancel it out!) you shouldn't be continually relied on as the "future".

We need a QB for the future...period...that is our #1 goal next year in the offseason to continue to build this team back up. Even if Frerotte has a good year, he is old and we need a future. Unless Berlin shows promise as he tutors this year, next season we have to trade players/pick/whatever, to get a solid draft QB, or a player on a roster.

Oh please, stop it already with the highly exaggerated excuses. We went 4-12..hardly close to one of the worst years for an NFL team ever  He still had CC, McMike, and Booker, not to mention Morris avg. over 4 yards per carry
