1.chad p. takes too much time in the pocket i mean on the first fumble by him where he lost it he held onto the ball i kept seeing him looking at different routes i mean that could mean that the people where covered and atl was playing great d in the secondary.

2.our play calling is stupid we do a wildcat on 1st and 2nd downs then bring in chad p for a 3rd down and 5 and expect him to complete it just that easy without any flow in the game?

3.ricky williams looks awesome

4.ronnie brown needs more touches like maybe some passes thrown his way?

5.ted ginn can not succeed to what we want him to be or what we expect his numbers to be with chad p

6.our d is awesome sean smith settled in after the miscue he did on roddy white, Jason taylor is a beast

7.i really really think we need to consider henne if we go down 0-2 just because people will start to respect his arm strength and accully know we can throw deep which might open up the run game more.

8. am not sold on jake long anymore

1. Pennington is an okay QB but he does not have confidence (with reason) in his arm to get the ball in tight spots or down the field

2. our play calling needs to be more up the gut strait forward down hill running with the creative stuff sprinkled in a bit lighter (wildcat & end a rounds) we are also stretching the thing way to much keep it in the middle (the tosses do seem to work)

3. We need to commit to the run more and use the play action fake to get the short stuff open over the Linebackers

4. It is sad to say but if we don't get Henne in soon (not in favor of going with Henne right away just cause Pennington had a bad game) Ginn will go and shine on another team. I understand that Ginn has not proved he can be a dominate force in the league but there is no way he is as bad as Pennington makes him look. I see Ginn being traded next year and having more than just an okay career.

5. I was very pleased with the D
Phillip Merling coming of the bench seems to be working very well
Jason Taylor still has it
Sean Smith got lucky sometimes but made plays as well
Wilson & Bell as we know are not that great against the Pass but still made plays on Gonzales (you dont stop players like T.Gonzales you just slow them down)
but Will Allen looks like he will always be a step behind the WR on what ever route they run. I might catch some heat for this but I rather have Davis start opposite of smith that hit on Jenkins was very nice
I do like Crowder and Ayodele but we need a guy that can strait dominate in the middle (all for drafting a MLB early next year)

6. Jake is trying to hard to prove he is not bad against Speed rushers (his knock coming out of college) he is over playing the Bucket step all he needs to do is play ball the way it comes natural for him and he will be fine

while i see what alot of you guys are saying about pennington (the more logical ones like in this thread) i am still not completly sold on it. I remember some nice tight passes from pennington (jets game last year anyone?) so i do not tottally think that his arm is such a problem just yet. I think it is magnified when our o-line plays so bad and we commit several turnovers and never find a rythim but im just not sold on it being a huge limitation just yet. the only thing i am sold on is that Ted Ginn will not reach his full potential with penny at the helm. However, he can still do well and if we keep throwing white in there then i thin Ginn will get a lot more shots down field. White has a great arm he is great for the whole wildcat thing. Again i want to wait to see how i really feel about Penny's arm. i have seen him throw some real nice passes into some real tight spots. Also a lot of QBs have at least 1 int and thats all he had. take away the fasano fumble in the first half and the entire game might have changed. Also our running game really was not bad at all so all the talk about them stacking the line to just stop the run i dont tottally get either. i think we shoulda stuck to the run a little more..got 6-8 yards and then run play action or right back up the gut on 3rd down. all of these obvious problems today are just making me beleive that we didnt even get to see if chads arm was ok or not b/c we had no chance with all the other b.s. going on.

4. ronnie also cant find holes and that oline is not making it any easier

5. agree tgj is build for qb that has a arm sorry penny but at least he is still doing something for penny.

6. our d did good and would of look like gods if they did not play almost the whole game.

Great post. Ginn might be better on another team but that's fine.. Henne might have a stronger arm but he won't win us more games.

4. Correct =D

6. Our D looked good in all aspects except covering the TE position and doing something with LB's.

7.No..

Think it was mentioned in a different thread already: our D did not play almost the entire game! Time of Possesion was 30:?? (ATL) - 29:?? (MIA). That's pretty even if you ask me.

That stat is misleading as hell . . . we were well behind in TOP . . . however, late in the game, we ate up alot of clock because ATL was in closer to a prevent defense and we were running the ball, eating up the clock because OBVIOUSLY if Pennington can't get the ball down the field with only 4 guys in the secondary . . . how can he do when there is 7.

Misleading or not, matter of fact is that we split the time of possesion with ATL and this can be backed up with statistical evidence. So, whenever someone says that "our d did good and would of look like gods if they did not play almost the whole game", it's NOT TRUE. Simple as that.

1. Chad takes time because no one is open. It has been a problem for years that our receivers don't create enough separation. Some of the incompletions yesterday from Atl? Some of those guys were wide open. Also.. everyone knows our Oline s*** the bed. Making completion has is more of a team effort than one thinks.

2. I am too now starting to get sick of the Wildcat and gimmick plays. If you can't line up and play.. then we have more problems than we'd like to admit.

3. Ricky was awesome!

4. I have no idea why Ronnie isn't pounding the rock. ATL stuck to their enemic running game.. we should've done the same. definitely could've taken some pressure off the Oline, and Pennington.

5. Ted Ginn isn't an elite QB. Steve Smith from Carolina makes plays regardless who is throwing the ball. Blaming all of Ginns woes on Pennington isn't accurate. I wish people would put more responsibility on Ginn. If Bess can make separation and get 7 catches, why can't our #1 receiver.

6. Our run defense was awesome. Our secondary was definitely suspect. Sean Smith whiffed plenty of plays. Especially early, fortunately Ryan was off in the early in the game.

7. I thought they should've put Henne in at the end of the game for a few reps. But the reality is that Henne sucked against 2nd and3rd stringers in preseason. i hardly expect him to shine now. Our 2007 season is an excellent example of how wishing for the backup doesn't always work out! (Beck!)

8. Jake had a bad game.. I expect him to clean it up. He's young.. unfortunately his learning by fire is done on television.

First off, it wasn't split . . . ATL had about 2 minutes more, since u want to bring up statistics, don't say it was split, when clearly it was not.

ATL also ran 13 more offensive plays than Miami

This is a ball control offense . . . Chad Pennington completed almost 75% of his throws . . . but none of those were down the field . . . so yea we were burning clock, but we weren't moving anywhere.

This is why u have to WATCH the game, and not look at stats.

If u tell anybody we ran for 4.4 yards a cary and Chad Pennington had a 72.4% completion ratio. U wouldn't think we were down 19-0 midway in the 4th quarter. Sure turnover were a big problem and killed every potential drive we were attempting to make, but that is the problem. This team has to be perfect to win, and u know what, that just isn't possible to be week in week out.

Steve Smith had 3 catches for 21 yards yesterday. Clearly having good QB play means a little bit.

Bess gets desperation within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage and that is why Pennington throws to him. Ginn is much farther down the field where Pennington doesn't trust his arm.
