i don't post alot i normally just come to finheaven to view what is going on i normally check once a day or every couple of days, this by far is my favorite site to go to during the offseason and definitly during the season to watch everyone's different views and watch people talk smack about one player one week then love them the next and so forth.....i have been coming here about 4 years.....with all this being said, i just wanted to say what i think about the up coming season.

i live in Louisiana and see all the hype about the Saints with good reason i suppose they have went through a franchise long go with mediocraty into something that has given people hope. I want to have this again with the Dolphins i remember the Marino years and then when ricky first came into town ever since i started watching the dolphins and following them they have always been contenders until the past few years...i feel differently about this year, i dont feel we are superbowl material but hey you never know.

with the quarterback situation that everyone seems to love to talk about i was at work and my friend was keeping me updated about the draft i was amazed when the "golden boy" kept falling and was in our laps and as everyone else did i expected the dolphins to pick him but when my friend called me back and said you arent going to believe this and he told me i was pissed and didnt understand what was going on at first but then i slowly warmed up to the pick...thinking of it more as a reggie bush type move which i will be happy with. Overall though i feel as though Beck will become something that will impress everyone and i feel as though culpepper will be able to show people a little something this upcoming season and impress...i dont agree with getting green....we are ALWAYS bringing in new people year after year since Marino looking for the next thing to ease to dolpfan nation...will Beck be a Marino...no...will he be something special, i feel so. But as for this year i am sticking with Culpepper.

with the running backs i am satisfied with booker as a backup to brown, i was hoping for ricky to come back but it just seems as though he will never get it together and come back. With ronnie during his rookie season some of the amazing runs and physical attributes i saw from him were amazing, i mean hell half of the people on this site and other sites had some of his runs as there avatar....last season he was less spectacular but i wouldnt blame him 100% but i feel as though his heart was there and i love his demeanor...i feel as though this upcoming season he will have a season more like his rookie and blow us away with some more amazing runs i am definitly looking forward to that, such as that KC run his rookie season amongst others.

with the recievers and david martin i am ok with...i have always been a chambers supporter but it seems as though alot of people want him to be something he wont be a top 5 reciever in this league. He is what he is a very good reciever with a less supporting cast then the top 5 in the league i am not using this as an exuse because even on those other teams i dont feel as though he would win any recieving titles, he has all the skills to be a number 1 reciever and that is what he is to us. I was a little impressed with hagan last year but his drops were a little dissapointing but i just put it towards his rookie learning and yada yada yada..i see everyone saying booker has been most consistent which he has been or people saying get him out of here...i say let him stay, in no way shape or form is his staying here going to hurt us, just help us...if hagan, or god forbid ginn be better than him than that just shows that our WR's are getting better which will be promising...i dont know anything about david martin but i will admit i will slightly miss mcmichaels...or the randy i remember, the one that oozed heart and spirit on the field...but then again i havnt seen him in awhile...so i hope david martin can give us another target.

THE O-LINE i am happy to see we didnt do what we have done every offseason for the past 5 offseasons and change up the entire line or close to it...true we might not have had the best but the longer you let a group work with each other the better they become...so i am happy to see we still have some of them and do like the new ones we brought in..i know they will be better than in the past 2 years becuase they actually know the people they will be lining up with...

Defense...the only thing that we have had for the past decade it seems and the only thing that gives us hope....i love our defense as most of us fans do. it keeps us in games and occasionally JT or Zach will win it for us. But the thing that kills me for the past few years is seeing how pumped up our D gets only to see the offense go 3 and out towards the ends of games after the D set them up to pull ahead or take the lead...then they scroll to the sidelines and you see the dissapointment. This year i want the offense to actually keep our Defense happy, in no way do i think our D has ever given up in a game they have to much heart and pride for that but if our offense was better i think it would make our defense that much better because it would make their demeanor that much higher, i expect a top 5 defense this next year and we all know it will be there

special teams...mare? will be missed for his power not his misses, never really got to see feeley kick but i know he was more conisitent and according to his stats actually had the power as well, he wasnt ranked very far behind mare in touchbacks so i feel it is a definite upgrade, as far as the punter, i really liked donnie jones it seemed as though he was getting better and better but at least we get a rookie contract out of the new guy right lol....and after seeing bush play last year i cant wait to see what ginn can do, i know they are not the same player but i feel as though they will have similar stats.

i realize that alot of this has already been said or something similar but i just wanted to state what i feel about this upcoming season and i hope everyone sticks with this team and never lets go because i know many of you are like me and they make you smile they make you frown but deep down when you are watching a game you can actually feel it in your heart, even before a game starts the anticipation and the excitment can not be matched! its one of those things you look forward to the entire offseason! i can already feel the chills that will be coming on opening kickoff in which ginn will impress or maybe a feely touchback and then noone will miss mare ;)

so to my fellow fin fans heres to the upcoming season whether it be great or not i am looking forward to spending another year with the dolphins and with all of you! cheers

Everyone talks about our defense..... but I hope our offense really comes around. For the past few seasons, regardless win or lose.... I've tried to enjoy watching Zach Thomas & Jason Taylor. I put them in that upper echelon of former dolphins... Griese (not Brian), Offerdahl, Duhe, Csonka, etc.
I just hope Ted Ginn gets into training camp ontime!

well said my friend and cheers to you as well

I think we could have a really good offence now because we have an offence mind coach

Nice post bro, I like your positive thoughts.

But.....the O-line IS getting a 100% complete overhaul as it's looking like we will have 5 new starters in their spots. We are going to build a strong, powerful line for years to come, instead of getting 1 yr retreads from other teams.

Looking forward to season

I like your post & I would add this about the "golden boy". I seem to recall a lot of fans being upset with our first two choices. What I heard most was, 'we should have taken Quinn then Meachum'.
Well, we're begining to hear that Quinn will likely hold out (wants top pick money) and Meachum needs knee surgery.
Add this to all your good points, and I already feel much better going into the year. Even with some of the questions we still have.

ohhhh really i cant wait to tell all my little saints buddies around here about that lol alot of them were actually dissapointed they didnt take the WR from LSU over him, but i guess that is them just being homers....but that will be fun news to tell them....and yeah earlier today i was reading some of the posts about quinn holding out...thats sad just because he feels that he should have been drafted higher and wasnt that he is going to hurt the team that actually went out and got him....REALLY PATHETIC! so i am very happy with the way things turned out
