My views on what Ross said

We need to face the facts, we have very little talent on our team regardless of what some people think. We have mediocre QBs at best, a Runningback (Reggie Bush) who is being utilized the wrong way and hasn't done much of anything unless he's put in space, an unmentionable Tight End crop that needed serious upgrading in the off season but didn't get it, an Offensive Line full of castoffs and poor draft picks whose best player by far is a rookie (Pouncey) and yes that includes Long who seems to be injured yet, A less then stellar Wide Receiver group whose alleged elite player (Marshall) drops passes all the time and makes very little yardage after he does make a catch. Then we move to the defense. The only guy who can generate any passrush is Cameron Wake and we got him NO help at all this off season. Signing a washed up Jason Taylor was not the answer. Soliai appears to have regressed now that he has his fat $12 million contract in hand (not a surprise). Dansby and Burnett have been huge disappointments at ILB and neither make any big plays. None of our linebackers can cover a Tight End. Burnett has been a lot worse then Crowder to this point. As far as the secondary goes, Vontae is injured and didn't exactly look great prior to the injury. Sean Smith is overrated and can't tackle at all. Yeremiah is slower then a tree sloth and gets torched with regularity. Then we have Reshad Jones who makes so many damn mistakes it boggles the mind. That pretty much sums up what we're looking at with our team. We not only need to find players with talent but players who are also smart and don't make the same mistakes over and over again.

I agree Ireland could be on the hot seat. I know most people don't like Sparano but as a coach you coach what you are given. If you are given turds, you try and coach said turds. If you are given apples however it makes the HC's job much easier. I mean Nolan ****ing Carroll is starting at CB with lazy boy Sean Smith. If we were to tank the rest of the season and "Pluck Luck" in the draft, that still doesn't address how horrible our defense and pass protections are. I would hate to see any QB especially a rookie behind this piss poor offensive line. And given a 'rookie curve' it could take up to another 3 years before he 'gets it' in the pros. Luck is great, one of the best prospects to be coming out ever but he can't play defense. And that is the biggest problem on this team right now.

Ross is responsible for this mess. He created an every man for himself attitude by courting Harbaugh while still employing Sparano. Offering an extension was transparent in meaning. The p,ayers saw through it and have quit on Sparano. There is no energy or intensity and the reasons are obvious why. Ross' words are falling on deaf ears.

This isnt even mentioning Koa "I can never get off a block" Misi or Nolan "toast" Carroll. We have a team full of players who are merely average. So expecting them to play at a high level and beat better teams is asking way too much.

I like how Ross said the players are all playing hard. Yeah right. I guess he is too busy entertaining his B list celebrities and not watching the game. A lot of our players appear to be just going through the motion. They are NOT all playing "hard". He needs to stop blowing smoke up our collective butts. Watch the video of the game Ross and then come back and tell us what you see.

I am convinced Ross' words are directed towards potential coaches to paint a picture that he is a stable owner. Though he wont admit his mistake publically, whoever he pursuits is going to want an explanation of what his thought process was.

This guy is a bad owner who bought into a bad situation and probably sees no way out.

Ireland is just as bad. Time for a new regime. One that lives in the 2000s, not Parcells' 1980s.

And Ross is just doing it to look good for the media. Show he made a mistake and will support his staff until the season is over. That's what he should do.

I have a gut feeling Ireland is on the hotseat. You hear Ross backing Sparano and the players backing him as well. But nothing on Ireland. I don't think he gets away with the draft busts and horrid FA pick ups. I mean we signed Wilford for christ sakes and bring in Matt Moore as competition. We release JT just to have him back the next year. We bring in people like Tiki Barber and Larry Johnson for workouts and release people such as Ricky Williams. Ireland claims he keeps turning over rocks and yes that is true. Because hes giving us dirt in return. And to those who want Luck there was a post I just saw Henne's total QBR is top 10 in the NFL according to ESPN.

Vote of confidence from the owner ?

Kiss of death.

Not to mention the O-Line! $200 Million and two top 15 draft picks spent on it...and it's a disaster. Luckily Long and Pouncey are great.

Long should be back to pro bowl form in 2012 since he's coming off an injury this year, and Pouncey could be a pro bowler too, he's our best right now with Long struggling a bit. Then hopefully the new regime fills in the rest of it with some solid linemen.

Sparano clearly is a bad head coach. He never had the coaching experience to begin with, coming from a position coach to head coach. It shows week in and week out, how unprepared and unorganized the Dolphins are each week, that all falls on the coaching.

In my opinion, he is so well liked by the players because he runs soft camps and practices. There is no excuse for not being ready to play hard, no excuse for blown time outs each week, not lining up correctly, constantly confused, and the list goes on...Lets not forget praises them week in and week out for stupidity, fist pumps for field goals, etc.

I guess at this point, it does not matter if he finishes the season or not. Either way, both Ireland and Fist pump for field goals need to be gone after the season ends, or else this franchise will continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL for years to come.

I don't know what point you're trying to make and I don't think you know either. Most of those teams have new regimes. The point is to find the right regime. You want to look at the Saints before Payton? Colts before Dungy? Looking at your lists there's been plenty of turnover on those teams and the ones that have been there for awhile like Belichick, Reid, Coughlin have all gone deep into the playoffs. Never have they gone 3 straight years under .500 with their current teams.

I completely agree with what Ross said. I know it wasn't the popular 'view' around here but I think its the right one. He could be blowing smoke up all our ***** but I don't think so, because what he said is true. The best teams in football have been together for a long time. Swapping regimes really doesn't get you anywhere and if anything it sets you back further in the long run. I could be wrong but I don't believe that theres a coach that has won 2 super bowls with 2 different teams. Lets take a look at the teams that have been perennial playoff teams for the past 5 years(source wikipedia):

The thing is . . the players are all saying they back Sparano. . do they . . really or is this the political posturing we see week in week out from interviews. . who is really going to stand out while on the pay roll and say, ' our coach stinks'. that would be suicide!

Ross cant publicly denounce TS otherwise you lose all credibility. . not that Ross has much in my view after the Harbaugh fiacso back in January. . the confidence does not just have to be owned by Sparano and Ireland but also Ross. . does anyone have confidence in him as an owner?

Parcells left this franchise early and in a mess. . Ireland does not seem to be shouldering any blame and was with Ross the whole way in trying to secure Harbaugh. . neither of these men can be trusted. . but the way they treat Sparano now is an indication of how the next coach, and there will be one either before week 17 or shortly after, will be treated.. TS should NEVER have come back after January for his own self worth and pride he should have walked. .

Im so angry at the ineptitude and shady dealings and lies, lies and more damn lies that I really dont expect us to even get one win this season based on current performance and confidence.

Ross is smiling through his teeth while slowly plunging in the knife behind the back of Sparano who is handicapped by Ireland and the mess 'the Tuna' left behind. .along with Sparano honestly being in over his head. . I said last season he was in over his head. I still believe it to be so.

I dont really think he has the locker room, I dont believe Ross has confidence in him and I dont think Ireland is being man enough to admit liability either. . between the 3 of them this franchise looks like being in the toilet for at least another 5 years!!!

0-7 in our last 7 games. Hey Ross, teams with a lot of talent, with good coaching, that practice and play hard, don't lose 7 straight games and look anything like the Miami Dolphins. Take a look at your stadium the next home game, and tell me what your fan base thinks of your coach and team?
