Imagine if they had these forums in Shulas dayOMG, you're right, Miami was beating teams they had no business beating just a mere 30 YEARS AGO!! However, between Shula's retirement and McDaniel's taking over, we REGULARLY lost to teams we should have beaten, REGULARLY... I'm also old enough to remember fans running Shula out his coaching seat because he wasn't winning enough anymore. Because the league had passed him by and it was time for more modern minded coach. So maybe Shula in his prime would do better with the talent we have now, but don't forget, he had Marino, Duper & Clayton and didn't win a single super bowl with them. In fact, Shula's dolphins were REGULARLY beaten in the playoffs by Buffalo.
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR.
Totally fairWhen they beat either the Bills, Eagles, 49ers, Chiefs, and win a freaking playoff game on the road...then and only then will these "myths" be finally debunked. The Dolphins are soft and undisciplined...just like their Coach.
I learn something everyday around you Fred. How did Yogi Bear get his name while we are here?It was Teddy Roosevelt that saved a bear in Mississippi, hence the Teddy Bear

I have has similar feelings about this years team and I know exactlyYep, in that category he's doing great. That's why I've joked about him putting pickle ball courts on the canopy roof.
Ross's priorities are the property and assets of the team. The success of the football on the field is way down the list of importance.
Maybe this is why I'm wanting to burn all my Dolphins stuff. I've never had a season, where I've felt such hatred towards the team. I can't put a finger on one thing that's causing it. I think it's an amalgamation of alot of things, but Ross is definitely part of it.

Do tell how you know they don't stay after to work out in the gym, run routes inside, practice snapping and so on?I have has similar feelings about this years team and I know exactly
A lot of talkers, not a lot of work, best player on the team acts like a punk and gets arrested on the first day, team practices like club med, doesn’t stay after to work on their games individually, Grier laughs at fans, and winds up 2-6
I'll just let McDaniel's and Grier's history speak for itself.Your original response didn't address anything that I originally posted. However, since you are so keen to go, lets go...
Context is everything. A common tactic among self-proclaimed realists is to ignore the reality of context:
1. McDaniel is a first-time head coach who himself has admitted he is still learning and growing (which is more than can be said for many people on this forum who think they have it all figured out). It's barely been 2 and a half seasons, not 3. Exaggerating facts to make things seem more negative shows a lack of intellectual integrity.
2. McDaniel put Miami in the playoffs two years in a row. Context: the first year we lost to Buffalo (in Buffalo) by less than a TD with Skyler Thompson as our starting QB. Context: the second year, we lost to the Super Bowl champions in one of the coldest games in history with a patchwork offensive line, injured receivers, and backup Defensive Ends. (OMG, a second year head coach couldn't beat a multi-super bowl winning team with their hall of fame coach and one of the best QBs in history in their house??!! What a loser!!). This year we are in second place in the AFC east, even though we were without our Starting QB for four games. Context: we lost by 1 point to Arizona who currently leads the NFC West and 3 points to the AFC east leading Bills (in Buffalo), who had to set a team field goal distance record to beat us.
3. What's "soft" is grown professional adults who won't do their jobs unless they have some drill sergeant threatening and yelling at them. If you have to have someone yell at you to motivate you to do your job, then YOU are soft Just like Jonnu Smith said to Pat McAfee, the league is changing and the old-school, Billichick style of coaching by domination is falling by the wayside.
4. If it wasn't for Tua's injury, we would be at 7-3, if not 8-2, nearly locked for the playoffs. Calling a team or it's coach soft for not winning in the NFL when the starting QB is on the bench is about the least situationally aware thing you can do. Show me ONE other team winning with their second string QB, let alone a QB brought in from other teams practice squad a week ago (context).
Have a nice day.
Don't they "semi-hibernate" like most other bears? We have Bears
Myths confirmed! Premature ejacul-myth busting!!!!Myth: McDaniel's teams are undisciplined
Busted: Over the last four games, Miami has averaged fewer than four penalties per game, including only ONE against the Rams, just TWO against the Cardinals, and FOUR against the Raiders.
Myth: Tua is a one-read QB who crumbles under pressure and can't extend plays or make throws off schedule
Busted: Since his return from injury, Tua has REPEADETLY made big time, drive extending plays in clutch moments by avoiding pressure, getting outside the pocket, and hitting 3rd read receivers on the run
Myth: The NFL has figured out McDaniel's offense
Busted: Over the four games since Tua's return, Miami has averaged more than 27 points of offense per game. McDaniel has shown game planning flexibility by adapting to the types of defenses other teams play against Miami to mitigate Waddle and Hill.
Myth: The players don't respect McDaniel
Busted: If the team didn't respect the him, he would have lost the locker room. Given the last for games, this is clearly not the case: Miami lost to Buffalo and the Cardinals by a combined 4 points, then went to LA and beat the favored Rams followed by a two-score victory at home against the Raiders.
Myth: Grier is a terrible GM
Busted: While Grier is far from perfect, the moves of replacing Connor Williams (who retired from Seattle mid-season) with Aaron Brewer, not resigning Christian Wilkinson (who was lost for the season 4 weeks ago) while picking up Calias Campbell, and adding Jonnu Smith in the offseason, have all been net positives. Drafting Achane last year, then Malik Washington and Jaylen Wright this year, looks to pay dividends for years to come. Again, not saying Grier is a great GM, but looking at the amount of talent Miami has, he is objectively not terrible, especially compared to the GMs Miami has had over the last couple decades: Dennis Hickey, Jeff Ireland, and Randy Mueller.
