We can all name a multitude of epic failures Ross has been involved with during his tenure here, but I figured I would try to focus in the positive. Since there still seems to be so many Ross supporters in these parts, I thought you could help me uncover the positives that Ross has brought as an owner.

Please name the 3 best things Ross did to help the Dolphins or the fans during his time here

he put Heineken on tap, got some better quality pizza and put the cakes in the urinals

3 Good things
Fired JI
Fired T.S.
Tried to hire Harbaugh

3 failed things: Not exhaustive by any means
Waited to long to fire JI
Waited too Long to fire TS
IMHO - Should have turfed Joe and started fresh (I think Philbin can still win but I would have clean slated)

1. Kept ticket prices stable.
2. Bought out unsold tickets to get games televised in the Miami market.
3. Willing to spend a lot of money on the team. The Dolphins had a net operating loss of 14 million dollars last year. Ross paid in cash out of pocket.
4. Doesn't completely bend the fans over and also serve them expired food products like Dan Snyder.
5. Didn't appoint himself the new GM like Jerry Jones.
6. Has never charged Dolphins ticket holders $12.00 for bottled water after stadium water fountains broke like Mike Brown did.

I know nobody is happy with the way Ross is handling the GM search and I agree that it is not good, but we could do a lot worse. We honestly could. It's the reason why I'm willing to wait and see what happens here instead of going bananas right now.

I give Ross credit for opening his wallet every year for free agency. Beyond that he's a dismal failure IMO as an owner.

I do hold out hope that the light goes on and he figures it out....I believe in redemption in sports....but so far, he's been poor.

Racking up them frequent flyer miles should be number 1

It could be worse he could have kept JI one more year -> now he just might keep Gaine/Philbin/Aponte together -> "Win you are in -> lose................"

I think Ross tries to do the right thing and is willing to spend money he is just inept.

Thanks for that post. I needed to be reminded of some of the good things he has done.

Fair. I think does try to treat fans to a good gameday experience when it comes to stuff that isn't happening on the field. I will give you that. He has been proactive in that regard, whether it was bringing wifi to the stadium, those kangaroo video screens, etc., he does try to amplify the fan experience at the stadium.

Also, he is willing to spend on players.

As others mentioned, his heart may be in the right place, but he is just so woefully inept at managing a football team. It almost painful to see unfold.

Ross doesn't know the business. He has good intentions, but does not know the business. He really does need a Czar in the worst possible way, and I'd be okay with Carl Peterson in that role. I don't know why Ross is resisting the idea.

But just read this when you have a chance: http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/articles/40063/the-cranky-redskins-fans-guide-to-dan-snyder

It's hysterical. And sad. And it makes you realize we could have things so much worse.

Dan Snyder is perhaps the worst owner in the entire NFL. Unfortunately for us, Ross has established himself as a bottom 5 owner, along with Snyder, Haslam, Jones and Mark Davis

I'll take Ross over Mike Brown and Jerry Jones any day of the week. With Ross we have the hope that he will hire a good general manager. With Jerry Jones, you have no hope because Jerry runs the show and he has about a 20 year track record of being bad at it. I'll also take Ross over the Fords, who gave Matt Millen EIGHT FREAKING YEARS.

I think Steve Ross is similar to Arthur Blank. Both didn't know the business, both made mistakes and were enamored with stars at first, etc.

Blank made a couple of good hires. Perhaps Ross will do the same.

He brought in orange carpets
He made a disco
That's all I got...
