Naming loved ones after Dolphin players

Anyone of you diehearts name a child, pet or material possesion after a current or former dolphin. My daughters name is Danielle after you know who. My wife thought I was crazy. And her nickname is Dani. She is 12 yrs old. And I made her watch his hof induction with me, and any other old film of his. But of course her favorite pro athelete is Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony thugged out pretty boys. Man I hope she changes her taste in men. lol

No. Why would I do that when I could name my kids after someone who really means something like a relative or someone else who actually did something special for me. Pets are one thing but to name a kid after an athlete who doesn't even know you exist is a bit much.

I was talking with my wife about this just today. I said if I ever had twin boys they would either be a Jason and a Taylor or Zach and Thomas. That was met with a very "over my dead body" look.

I named my daughter Zach.

I tried to name my daughter Danielle but her mother wasnt for it. I often wonder if I had suggested that name without mentioning the reasoning behind it if she wouldve liked it. She did however get to be at the HOF induction ceremony at 1 month old. She was a trooper with it being that hot in Canton that day. I still picked her name but, Danielle was the first choice.
