Nasty's Notes:
OK... I just got back from the late practice. It was really packed... Alot more than last year. If you have never been to a TC, it is hard to watch all the players because they're all over 2 fields... one of which is far away. So I tried to watch certain players and just keep track of them where ever they went. The players I tried to watch were:
Ricky
Roth
Feeley
Gus
Boston
Vernon Cary
Travis Daniels
Here is my brakedown of them -
Ricky - As the player most of you care about the most... He definatly hasnt lost any talent. He is still pretty big in his upperbody, but a lil smaller in his lowerbody... But he still can read. In the running drills, he had a real nice cutback run when it calapsed in on the left, he cut hard back the other way for around a 10 yard pick up. Also did well finding seems to go through. There were a couple of seems I didnt even see that he just cut right through. Definatly isnt the Ricky of old... but his performance on the field I found very encouraging because IMO he didnt look lost or struggle seeing the field. He also looked very comfortable. He is just a little smaller and not quite as explosive, however he is still pretty quick. He also did a good job receiving.
Roth - He looked good and quick. He got in a fight that that eventually had to get broken up. I cant quite remember who it was with... maybe Damien Cook?
Feeley - He seemed to struggle out there a lil earlier, but looked a lil better as practice went on. I thought he looked good on the deep route practices. He had one beautiful pass 40 yard pass (to maybe Kendell Newson?) that was put perfectly over his back corner shoulder in the endzone. Overall, he wasnt extremely impressive, but looked decent.
Gus - I think he was injured or something because he didnt look good at all. He had a few nice throws but it looked like his wrist or hand was hurt or something. On one pass, the receiver was about 35-40 yards down field and the pass went only about 20 yards. I could be wrong, but I thought I saw him holding his wrist. I was not impressed with him, and if he was injured, that would explain it... if not
Boston - I saw alot of you were curious to know how he was doing. Well, he is still huge! I didnt seem to notice him limping at all. And... He was freakin fast. He burned people deep a few times (atleast one of em was on Reggie Howard). He also burned Roundtree once on a deep ball drill when he knew he was gunna run a fly route. Very encouraging. He didnt look good enough to over throw Booker at the #2 yet, but looked fast and great for a #3 receiver. He didnt catch everything, but caught a good amount. The passing wasnt exactly great either.
Carey - I had heard that he was holding his own against JT, but its hard to believe that unless you see it yourself. Well... I didnt see him beat him once (If he did, I didnt see it) He looked pretty damn good. He really was holding his own out there.
Travis Daniels - Looked pretty good, but looked like he was cramping up or was tight or something. He was having his leg stretched a few times. But overall looked comfortable and played pretty well.
Other notes -
Manuel Wright looked pretty good. He is a big boy. He was wearing a red jersey. But seemed to participate in everything.
Booker had a really sweet one-handed juggling catch and looked pretty solid out there.
I swear Chambers hands have "Stick-Em" on them or something. There like glue.
Thats all I got. I hope I gave you guys enough information. I know you all can never have enough... especially the out of state ones. If you guys have any questions... let me know...
