Nate Garner is Starting Material

The guy has played two games and dominated. He is versatile, big & nasty. As for those two games Garner has started the offense has rushed for 353 yards 3 TD and has allowed 0 sacks. He has also filled at LG,C and RT.

Real players make the most of their oppurtunities and that applies to Sperry & Garner.

On Hilliard's long run for a 1st on 3rd and long, he ran right behind Garner, who dominated #92 on the play. I know that is just one example, but to me he looks like a future full time starter for us.

The key IMO is the 0 sacks given up since Garner was inserted into the starting line up... he appears to have given the O-line that extra thing that has solidified the pass protection... when you add the fact that he has and could play 4 positions on the line makes him a very valuable comodity on any NFL team... the improvement from last years is very evident and i hope he a dolphin for a very long time...

Garner looked really good and his versatility is a bonus. Also, he played at Arkansas, so he is familiar with the wild cat or wild hog as they called it.

Garner got some work against the Jets; I saw him in the endzone after a TD when we were in our orange jerseys. I don't know if that's one of the games FinAtic8480 is referring to or not.

Gardner is a different story. We knew he was coming off a serious injury when we drafted him (it's why he fell as far as he did), and would have to wait to see results.

First Gardner had to get healthy, then they had to make him stronger, and finally they have to get him acclimated to the speed of the pro game. He could end up helping us in a lot of ways... I'm in no way upset with the dude at all. This was expected for 2009.

I think Gardner is a bit behind where I thought he'd be even taking into account the injury he had. I can understand how he's going to be lacking some strength but he was a 4 year starter at left tackle in college so I would have thought he would be more NFL-ready than Shaun Murphy was for example. He seems to be behind another rookie (Murtha) so he'll really need to pick it up in a hurry next season if he doesn't go the same way as Murphy

this 2nd year pick could be as big as any in the draft.i dont know if he will.but he has looked good -no better than good so far.the guard position isnt pretty, but this would be another huge find.standing next to jake he looked big.i hope he's a dam monster lol.could he be another gem found?somebody is picking the right people.

I never said Gardner sucks.

But I do like Nate Garner. In his interview Justin Smiley was his usual effusive self, talking about how he's got his work cut out for him just to re-claim his starting job because Nate Garner is so good. However the thing he said that caught my attention was that Garner graded out really high. That was nice to hear.
