no way in h e double hockey sticks are we getting rid of long.. Hes the best LT in the league.. if we do that i give up... No front office can survive giving up on the best player at his position in his prime.. i dont care how much money he wants .. he deserves it...

He has one year left on his contract
If the Dolphins wanted to shut these rumors up they would sign him to a new deal but I doubt they will and with good reason. They want to see whether
a) Jake can get healthy and stay healthy
b) Jake can get back to level he was playing where a big contract would make some sort of sense. For the last 1.5 seasons however Jake hasn't played well enough to justify the money we are paying him
Then there's the question of whether Jake wants to stay or whether he fancies going to the highest bidder or to a regular playoff contender next spring
So of course there's a good chance this could be Jake's last season here and that was true before the draft and change of system
