NCAA reverts back to the old clock rule

This is good news. I always thought those new clock rules were pretty stupid. I didn't think college games were too long anyway.
 
This falls under the "No ****" category of decisions. Apparently every coach and college commentator in America saying the change is idiotic wasn't enough. The NCAA had to actually see this dumb *** gimmick rules mess with the game before they decided to listen.
 
don't worry, they will likely come up with something equally as stupid in another area of the game, in order to offset these positive changes if they are indeed made.
 
thank god. what did they end up saving this season. about 15 minutes per game and less offense. glad they realized what a mistake they made and they werent too stubborn to go back to the old way.
 
the guys on sports radio here in gainesville said that the rules commitee last year just felt like they were not doing enough so they would try this, oops, now they look like heros for fixing the problem they created. loosers.
 
Yeah they never should have been rules in the first place. No excuses but there were a LOT of close games UM lost because they didnt have time to make anything happen down by one score. Though we shouldnt have been in any tight games vs the teams we lost to...like I said no excuses.
 
Im suprise they changed it this quickly, but the rule was pointless to me to begin with.
 
Maybe its because USC had 2 losses that came down to the wire. With the old rules, USC may not have lost with extra time, and the NCAA dosent want that :tongue:

Honestly I think you may be right, ridiculous as it sounds.

There is a good chance USC would have lost to Washington had the old rules actually been in place too.
 
This is a great move by the NCAA, i thought that it made teams way to jumpy and the first couple of weeks teams were not use to the clock so they got screwed. It didn't work out, and i am glad that NCAA took action and didn't just *let it slide*
