The sad thing is, if he makes the kick that game never goes to OT and the Jets lose.
Yup, because everything in the game would have played out exactly the same if he had made it - right down to the Jets kicking a FG at the end to be down by 1 instead of tied.![]()
Uhh there was 4 seconds left in the game when they kicked a FG to tie it, let me guess the Jets were playing for a tie the whole second half instead of trying to get the win without overtime.
Of course but what are the chances that they complete a 20 yard pass with everyone defending the endzone? Slim. Are you too dense to realize the Jets play calling would have changed had they known they needed two TD's instead of a TD and a FG with 4 minutes to go?
Even if you can't figure that much out, I'd expect you to realize we would have taken a shot at the endzone rather than attempt a FG at the end.
Of course but what are the chances that they complete a 20 yard pass with everyone defending the endzone? Slim.
So you are pretty much telling me they played to go into OT instead of playing to win in the 4th, which is hilarious.
When you only need a FG to tie with the clock under 2 minutes and no timeouts your #1 priority is to get into FG range and the plays are called accordingly. We were able to run passes over the middle and dump offs to LT. Had we been down 7, we would have had to have done more vertical passing towards the sidelines in an attempt to get into a position to score 7. It's called situational football. You must be new to the game if you're unaware of these things.
Also, however slim the chances of completing a 20 yard TD pass are in that situation, it's hardly something that hasn't been done before. Your statement was that "The Jets would have lost". A definitive statement with no room for error. Sorry, but you were obviously incorrect in making that statement.
Of course they are going to run dump offs to LT and short passes over the middle, what else is Sanchez capible of?
