All I have got to say is he better be the second coming of the messiah for that kind of money. He better not be anything less than the greatest DT the league has every seen or my vitriol will not be contained!
The Miami Dolphins have been the definition of mediocrity in recent seasons. It is indicative in their 8-8, 8-8 and 7-9 records over the past three years under coach Joe Philbin.

Perhaps the biggest issue is Miami put together a roster filled with solid -- but not elite -- players. But the Dolphins finally got the game-changer they were seeking Sunday by agreeing to terms with free-agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. ESPN NFL Insider Chris Mortensen reports the deal is worth $114 million with $60 million guaranteed.

The Dolphins made Suh the highest-paid defensive player in the league -- surpassing Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt -- and the investment is worth every penny. Signing Suh makes sense for the Dolphins on so many levels. He cleans up many of Miami's issues on defense.
The Dolphins were 24th against the run last season, and defensive tackle was their biggest need. Suh, who helped lead the Detroit Lions to the NFL's No. 1 run defense, immediately fixes Miami's run defense and plugs its biggest hole.

A strong case also can be made that the Dolphins now have one of the top defensive lines in the NFL. Suh and Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Wake are two of the best at their respective positions. Fourth-year defensive end Olivier Vernon registered 18 sacks the past two seasons, and Earl Mitchell is a solid No. 2 defensive tackle. The Dolphins also have former No. 3 overall pick Dion Jordan coming off the bench as a pass-rusher. Despite Jordan's flaws, he has enough talent to make an impact next season.

It'll be worth it if we can see this at least twice a year....

I thought LBs and CB were bigger needs but these are ESPN writers so...

He is being paid to do that 5-6 times a year.

I think he will help our o-line get better at practice and I think he will help hide some of our mediocre linebackers. No more will offensive linemen get into our secondary because they will need all hands on deck with our d-line! This will be the year that Brady retires, whether it be mid season or the off-season, haha!

I just hope he's not the Albert Haynesworth of 2015

Someone would literally have to be the laziest thinker on earth to be convinced that this is the case. I'm not saying you are. But the only thing the two have in common is that they became very rich defensive players.

I expect him to spread it around to the other 14 games too :)

The important thing is that it's not just his production alone, but the defense as a whole. The more double-teams he creates, the easier time it will be for Wake, Jordan, OV, etc, to make a big play. He also plays with a serious edge, and I'll bet the defense rallies behind him every game.

It's not your money. I don't know why people give a ****. Every team has a salary cap, what matters is how we utilize it. It is a huge contract to give any one player, much less a non-QB player. We've been throwing money away for years. Is Suh going to have a bigger impact than Ellerbe, Wheeler, and Starks? Yes. Well then we're getting a bargain because we're paying him less.

You think Philbin got queasy last year? I see a peptobismol endorsement in his future. They will have a case of it on the sideline every game, lol. Now I'm actually looking forward to the season.

If you can get a disruptive pass rush with 4 guys, that also stop the run then that is the priority. A disruptive rush with 4 down linemen up the middle, off the edges, that makes the DBs and Linebackers better as well. Hides a lot of flaws. That's why buffalo is always such a tough out for us and everyone else. Their corners and linebackers weren't anything special last year, but their D-line was disruptive...

People give a **** about the $$ because they are worried about future signings and cuts... other than that I agree with your post dude

Bills better lock up Dareus this year. Who I think is the same as Suh just 3 years younger.

Top two DTS in the league are in AFCE. Rank them anyway you want I am sure MIA fans will say Suh is better where I will say Dareus is better. Doesn't matter they are the top 2 DTS in the game and make defenses better
