Last i heard was this last July:

The signs pointed toward retirement for Tim Bowens, after he failed a physical and was released by the Dolphins because of a back injury.

Bowens agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that the defensive tackle has opted to hold off on filing retirement papers with the league. Instead, Bowens will wait to see if he feels better after time off, and if so, would be interested in playing for the Dolphins in 2006.

Shot in the dark, but has anyone heard a thing about him giving it another go?

No updates since then that I've seen.

Larry Chester was reportedly trying to make a comeback though.

I remember last year Timbo saying that. He has always been one of my alltime fav's. I remember when Don drafted him and as a rookie nobody could keep him out of the backfeild and thought to myself he would be special. I was'nt wrong. I hope if he does come back he don't go anywhere else.

It doesnt look good for Timbo. From what I have heard he has not been working out and is very out of shape.

All that remains for him to do is to retire officially.

He will always have an honored place in my HOF.

stick a fork in both Bowens and Chester. You had to know the Bowens info from last year was just hopeful lip service to himself.

I think he should be in the ring of honor whichever he does. Maybe he could come back as a DT coach and help develope Manny and Vickerson. I can't think of anyone better.

Bowens will never be a coach. He's a quiet guy and keeps to himself. When he gets pissed off though he's known to be vicious and a bit off balance.

Yeah, that was my thinking. I just wanted to clear the possiblity from my mind. One of my favorites.

Few people may remember the role he played in the fake spike game. He spent nearly every down in the Jets' backfield in the second half of that game. What a rookie season.

Never complained, never held out (did he?), never got a ridiculous contract. Just an unblockable rock in the middle at times. A real warrior. #94 will be missed.

Was a team player. He liked Miami and always restructured or took paycuts. Really odd from a guy most say they wouldn't hang out with but if they needed a bodyguard they'd go to him.

I heard Richmond Webb was thinking of a comeback also..... think we could get production out of Webb and maybe Duper also? Duper and Chambers, wow what a combo.

Well, see.... They've filed their papers... Bowens hadn't yet, we thought. Mmm... yeah.

I don't know he obviously loves the team and the game and isn't ready to be without it the way it looks.
