Why not? Wake and JT with the pressure from the outsides. Starks and Solia plugging the middle. I think it could be very very successful. (but then again.... Do we want that... to be successful and win...)

DE- Camron Wake
DT- Randy Starks
DT- Paul Solia
DE- Jason Taylor
OLB- Koa Misi
MLB- Karlos Dansby
OLB- Kevin Burnett

IMO they dont have the personal to be a good 3-4 team they are much more suited to play the 4-3

For now our LBS are too slow for a 4-3, but I agree with we should go back to the 4-3.

I always liked the 4-3 but that doesn't mean much coming from me.

we dont have the LBers to run a full time 4-3... tho the Dline does look very solid... but then we have a lot of quality players on the bench that should be starting (langford, odrick)

Are you out of your mind? JT would get killed in run game...I could see 200 yard from scrimmage every week from RB's against us.

two de's that cant stop the run not a good thing. And we only have one linebacker that could probably play 4-3 and thats Dansby

We have too many interior dlineman, thats what this regime built on is having 3 big men in the middle, and we have about 6... so to play a 4-3 would waste some of that talent. i think its out of the question at this stage to put JT at defensive end, a few years ago yea. I think cam wake could make the change but he seems to have taken well to OLB and i wouldn't transition him back at this stage.

i dont think koa misi is the ideal guy for the other end spot either, to me its clear we would want alama-francis playing opposite wake in the scheme.

I would probably run something like this:

DE alamafrancis, DT Starks, DT Langford/Soliai (rotate between passing downs and runningdowns), DE Odrick.

At LB, I would roll with JT, Dansby, Wake.

If you wanna switch to the nickle u pull JT and bring in a CB, if u wanna go to Dime u pull odrick, kick wake down, take out JT still and put in 2 CB's

exactly...his strength was rushing the passer (and can't do any longer) and you think he can stop the run? My lord.... he would get abused every play!

Wake and TAYLOR WOULD PROBABLY MAKE POOR olB IN A 4-3

probably but its really just a 3-4 under, taking wake off the line yes but he'd still be doing the same job, this formation would utilize alama francis better then our base 3-4 uses misi (or taylor) , and you'd have 4 big guys up front to stuff the run, and your best 3 LB's on the field in dansby wake and (whoever your cup of tea is JT/misi/burnett).

also it would distribute some of the pressure on soliai to 2 guys in starks/soliai or (starks/langford,) and odrick and alama francis could utilize their strength and pass rush ability against some tackles

(not that francis doesnt get that matchup already, but it kicks odrick outside where he actually becomes useable rather then a rotational player(such a waste of a 1st round pick) and i think merling would have an easier job rotating in for any of the line positions (he adds some finesse at DE or DT)....

we would still be primarily a run stopping front, but wake is still a blitzing linebacker generally and dansby can really be sent in on blitzes and u wouldn't really be prepared for him....

also if we had some actual corners it would be easier to just pull JT (or burnett/misi who ever is in) and switch to a nickle
this is all in theory anyway, we have the personnel in our front 7 there is no excuse. we dont have the dbacks to back them up and thats our real problem

The other problem with running the 4-3 is having decent corners. Smith and Carroll are not cover corners.
Up front, we could run the 4-3. Our 3-4 defense is pathetic, nothing to lose.

next year we need to move yeremiah bell in to the role the culver used to be in, the way the Giants use Deon Grant in the 3 safery nickle sub package.

My vote is for luck and all new safeties and corners (minus vontae and smith becomes the 4th corner) lets "make a splash"

I play 4-3 in madden, why? bcuz JT can't shed a damn block and Burnett is horrible... May I add that he just got downgraded from 76 to 74 on madden! Our D-Line is pretty nice in Madden ngl!
