Miami has too many WR's as is

Miami is one of the five or so teams showing the most interest in WR Roscoe Crosby. I'm sure Saban probably remembers trying to recruit him or something.

I do expect they'll take a pretty good look at Shabaj too.

One thing I heard about him is he runs a sub 4.4 in the forty. That's greased lightning. There aren't too many guys like that out there...though I hear inflated 40 numbers all the time.

Also Ivory McCann the RB/CB/KR midget who is 5'8" and 170 pounds, ran like a 4.30, one stopwatch even had him at 4.29

Roscoe Crosby is also very athletic...at 6'1" or 6'2" he runs in the high 4.4's and leaps pretty well too. He also benched the 225 bar 18 times (better than Wright lol).

I'd invest a 4th in Wright and a 6th or 7th in Crosby but I wouldn't spend up too much more on anybody else. We are in a rebuilding stage where we need as many resources to buy new supplies as possible.

I might avoid Wright altogether. At this point, merely reserving a roster spot for him may prevent your team from getting better by squeezing out a player that may be more suited for your defense.

I would consider a 6th or 7th on Crosby, however.

A fourth-rounder is pretty high considering the guy wasn't even prepared for a crucial workout that he knew was coming. Keep in mind that Randy McMichael was a fourth-rounder...do we really want to risk that on this guy? A 7th round pick is another story...all 7th rounders are projects anyways.

I think we should be careful saying that Wright just wasn't prepared for his draft workout. He looked winded, that's true, but he has been working with a personal trainer and showed up at 329 pounds, which is higher than his playing weight and higher than he was expected to show up at.

His personal trainer had the following to say about Manuel, early in June...

"He (Wright) has not missed a single workout... he's never been late or passed on doing any of the items on his daily routine... (I) see a kid that has been on time with no schedule conflicts or issues... he's really been self-motivated while he's been out here because he's training by himself without the benefit of having other guys here with him"

My guess, is Manny concentrated on adding weight and ended up looking winded because his endurance suffered. My concern, however, is he showed poor core upper body strength when he only lifted the 225 pound bar 16 times.

They say never to judge a book by its cover... but I'd sign that guy based on his name alone. :chuckle:

Haha, the whole shabang for Shabaj. :D
