New Fins Owner Ross Asking for a Federal Bailout

I don't think I can like this guy any less at the moment. He better not F things up.

I'm not sure how much this will actually effect the Phins or not.

It certainly has to worry you though about his ability to financially support the team the same way Wayne H. has over the years.

Those always blaming Wayne and claiming him to be a bad owner may end up looking back on the "be careful what you wish for" mantra.

I'd like to see Wayne H. keep his controlling interest part and simply have Ross as a partner.

Maybe the glass is half full. He's taken such a hit on his RE holdings it's possible he no longer will be either capable or desirous of buying controlling interest. Who knows? Maybe he was a Madoff investor, taking a big hit there too.

And that would be A-Okay with me based on the vibes I've been getting.

People can say what they want about Wayne, but he has done nothing but give SF what they wanted. Almost gave SF a ring with the Panthers back at the beginning. Then he bought a few rings for Marlins fans, and has done nothing but dump money to give the Fins a ring. Yes, he isn't perfect but the guy has tried. Unfortunately, in Football it isn't easy to buy a ring.

This new owner has trouble written all over his face and it makes me nervous. I have this gut feeling that he wants to move the team, not sure why but I have been feeling this way since the sale of the team began. I wish Wayne would change his mind and keep his majority.

I agree with everything you said, especially about the part of having a bad feeling about him. However, I don't see him moving the team. The Fins just invested a huge amount of money in upgrading the stadium. They're building a mall type of outlet and other luxury stuff. I could be wrong, but in order for him to move he would have to get a gigantic offer from another city and I don't see that happening with our growing recession.

Hurry up Wayne change your mind and keep the Dolphins.

He's asking to be bailed out while in the middle of purchasing controlling interest of a professional sports franchise, and the most expensive of leagues to boot? Half of Congress may not stop laughing long enough to dismiss him.

Maybe someone can induce Goodell to step in and have the league's accountants conduct a financial forensic analysis of Ross's liquid assets (remember, properties, these days are not particularly readily salable) to determine his sustained ability to finance the running of the franchise in the manner necessary to uphold its integrity and intrinsic value. This is all very worrisome IMO. While 2 years ago, based on his real holdings, he may have passed the smell test, that well might no longer be the case.

We need some digital graphics to present your arguement.

Can he do any worse than Wayne? We haven't been to a Super Bowl in 25 years. Since 1993 when WH bought into teh Fins what have we really done?

I prefer Parcells, but who knows what the future brings. I am up for anything that helps us win. It all depends on putting a team together. Man if the Chiefs had a defense the year (2003) they had LJ and Priest Holmes they would have dominated the league. Colts beat them in divisional playoff.

They were 13-3 that year. If we could go 13-3 and go far into teh playoffs I don't care who is the owner.

What can he do worse than Wayne? Just hearing those rumors of Petersen joining miami tells me that he loves hanging out with losers.

Found this in an article-

"1. While the Raiders and Al Davis are selling shares in their organization, they should consider giving Bill Parcells 3 to 5 percent of the organization and let Tuna fix what Al has broken.

Parcells can opt out of his deal with the Dolphins. Parcells and Davis have a longstanding, respectful admiration/friendship. Parcells is probably the only man who can single-handedly clean up Davis' mess." http://http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9033410/NFL-Truths:peyton's-a-choker,-LT-is-done-in-S.D.?MSNHPHCP&GT1=39002

This is what a smart owner should do with the Tuna to keep him from getting the wanderlust again. Meaning neither Ross nor Al Davis will do this....
