From there, Ellis went to Shaw, where he started to improve in the classroom and is working on finishing a recreation degree.
''I played the three [gap], some of the nose,'' he said. ``Coming in here is a big change of position for me. I've got to learn to play two-gap. I think the vet [Ferguson], he can show me how to play it when he gets in. It's kind of tough on me, but I'm going to get it done. There's nothing I won't learn.''
With a thick, massive build from shoulders to hips, Ellis looks like a nose guard.
''Raw fundamentally, long way to go that way,'' Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said. ``Some things we are going to have to do from a developmental standpoint. He did flash at me athletically and from a strength standpoint on several occasions.''
Although Sparano liked Ellis' feet and quickness, he did say with a chuckle, ``We are going to take a look at all of these guys from a body weight standpoint now and start to decide who is going to weigh what and he won't be going up.''

Im hoping this kid is our Davone Bess this year. Tony said he expects atleast two UDFA to make the team each year. Sparano says the Dolphins works very hard trying to find UDFA who could make the team and I think this kid will really push Soliai. One has to also remember Joe Cohen who is on the roster has a very similiar build and was drafted as a 4th round pick last year by Sisco. We might have to up and comers at DT.
