I know it's obvious that whoever we hire as our new OC, he'll likely be taking all of his orders from Cameron in regards to the Phinz 2007 offense. I was just curious who we're looking into / interviewing. Mularkey is staying on in some offensive capacity, that much we know, but he wont be named OC. Most likely taking the TE's coaching job from everything I've read / heard....

I've also heard the name Ken Zampese being mentioned, but given the fact that he and Cameron have never coached together, suggests he may be a long short in the race as OC....

Does anyone out there know of any other serious candidates for the Phinz new OC job?? Although I'm comfortable knowing Cameron will oversee everything, I'd like to get one in place soon, so we can start to develope some kind of identity on offense....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Well i'd really like Ken Zampese here, however, their is a slight problem. Ken Zampese wants to be able to call his own plays. It makes sense, i mean i would too if your giving me an 'OC' job. And now theirs rumors flying around that Norv Turner might become the new head coach of the cowboys, therefore leaving the OC position open on the 49ers coaching staff. If Zampese wants to call his own plays, that'd be his idea situation.

I think we're gonna sign Carmicheal, the Saints current QB coach.

I feel ya, but give me a job that pays that much money, where my boss is going to do a big part of the work for me, and I would sure take it!

I thought Carmichael was interviewing for our QB coach position, not OC.

It's probably not out of the realm of possibility too that we don't hire one and Cameron acts as OC and HC. Especially if we get Carmichael and Cameron can groom him while he's QB coach to then take over play calling and OC later.
