  • Anthony Steen did so well in his first start at center last Sunday that Christensen forgot he was out there in place of the injured Mike Pouncey. “The best compliment I could tell you about him is that I didn’t notice him. I didn’t think of him as any factor in the game and then all of a sudden you watch the game and you go, ‘Wow, the kid played really, really well.’…He was really, really a bright spot.”
  • Rookie wide receiver Leonte Carroo was another young player who impressed Christensen by handling his assignments well and making a couple of catches, but there really was no choice in using him because DeVante Parker was inactive. “He kind of got in there by default,” Christensen said. “You’re only gonna dress four and he was our guy and Jakeem (Grant) is really a specialist right now. He’s learning and wasn’t really an option offensively yet. I think he will be down the road.”

Steen did some nice things but it looks like he also blew some protection calls that resulted in some of the unblocked Seahawks crashing into the QB.

Yep. He played well, but let's hold that spotlight for a few games. Steen needs some polish in pass pro ID. Some of that fell on either T-hill, or the hiccups of a first game in a new offensive install.

Mind games to get Pouncey and Parker back ASAP. I did think that Steen played well but he'll never be able to pull like Pouncey and Carroo will find it tough to get playing time once Parker is back.

Better hope Steen can develop into a long term starting caliber center. I have a feeling this hip issue is going to plague Pouncey for the rest of his career.

Agreed, big boy who plays center with 2 bad hips? Thats not going away, and will probably lead to back and knee problems in no time.

Hopefully Steen plays well enough that they can release Pouncey this offseason. That $ needs to be allocated elsewhere.

Now the question becomes, what do we do with him when Pouncey returns? Has he earned the rg spot? Or has he earned the center spot and Pouncey gets pushed back to rg? I see Steen at rg being much more likely, but either way, they keep saying they want the best 5 and Steen played very well in a very tough spot. Can't say that about any of the other guys vying for that rg spot.

Can we please stop the talk about moving Pouncey to guard? He played guard for us before and he sucked bad. Steen can't play guard either. Arms too short so he's staying at center. When Pouncey's ready to play he'll just get hurt again

Ozzy rules!!

I'm not going to sit here and tell you I watched game film or anything....but Steen graded out very well by PFF....so it couldn't have been awful.

I think the next move we should consider is moving Pouncey's overpaid....injury prone arse....to another team.
