Playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in our season opener is certainly a great challenge for our players. Any time you have an opportunity to play the best, it should bring out the best in you.

But I would also say our focus has been playing well in 16 games, and it's important we show that consistency over the entire season, and that will ultimately decide whether this season has been a success or failure. You always like to play well in your first game, but it is no more important than playing well in each of the games on your schedule.

Good article, thanks for the link. Very Sabanesque. You read it and it pretty much negates all the threads on here about whether we want the Steelers at full strength or not. Focus on what you have to do, not on who's in the game for the Steelers!
 
On the other hand, we have some rookies on this team who in Tampa at our preseason game were looking in the stands. I don't know if they were looking for their mama or their girlfriend or what they were doing, but they weren't paying attention to what was going happening on the field, and the only thing that's going to help them play good is what's on the field.
