It started snowing about 1pm after a morning filled with heavy rain. One of my neighbors was driving up and down the street with his John Deer Tractor offering to plow, everyone's driveway and shovel our front porches.
I took him up on his offer, to help me out. It took him about 1/2 hours with about 3 inches already fallen to clear up my property.
It's now about 9:30pm and have about 12 inches with the snow coming down steady. They expect Cape May County to get somewhere between 18 and 24 inches by noon on Monday, when the storm is expected to stop.
I'm about 5 miles from the beach, but unfortunately my home faces the ocean where the winds really kick up in storms like this. So there is a possibility the snow totals could add up to close to 30 inches.
In all of my life I've never experienced a snow storm of more than 2 feet. So this one is a lifetime event for me.
In my younger days, I'd be out playing, having snow ball fights, sledding and doing all sorts of fun stuff.
But now in my old age I'm sitting on my azz drinking hot tea, watching the snow fall. How times have changed. Thankfully my neighbor will be back tomorrow to help dig me out.
Even with 30 inches I read Lake Tahoe got 115 inches dropped on them a few days ago. So in essence I'm the lucky one.
