i was wondering is there any progress on his contract extension? i mean what i can see is him having a amazing year and using it as leverage i really think that the dolphins should sign him to like a 5 year extension hes a amazing back with great hands and seems like a good teammate.

anyone know anything ?

I recall reading that the Dolphins have expressed an interest in signing an extension but I don't know if it got as far as an actual offer.

My guess nothing happens until the off season. Next year could be uncapped so I don't know how that may factor in.

I have not heard anything recently about ronnie getting an extension but I think it has been mentioned on here before about some negotiating going on this offseason but nothing really happened.

I love Ronnie, I really do, but I don't see him coming back to the Phins next year. I just have a bad feeling about it. I hope I am wrong.

Just read today that Ronnie is in unusual situation. He signed a 5 year rookie contract with an optional one year extension.

IF the NFL and players union agree on a CBA this offseason, Ronnie becomes a free agent.

BUT if there is no agreement between the league and the players, and we go into an uncapped year next year, the optional one year extension kicks in and Ronnie stays a Miami Dolphin under his rookie contract for that optional sixth year (I think he'll bank a cool $5 million).

So Ronnie doesn't know if he'll be a free agent next season or not, I suppose that will put hesitation on any negotiations.

Anyways, typing all this from memory, but I'm pretty sure its close to accurate.
