Apparently newly acquired Eddie Jackson is injured and that is why he was waived. I got the list from the NFL.com website "looking for work" section

I haven't seen anything else that said he was injured.I found this on a Panthers website though.

Jackson vs. Wesley vs. Hampton
Whoever plays the best special teams will get this spot. Wesley started to come on as a gunner last year, and if that continues I think you see him on the roster. A lot of people like Jackson's potential, and he got some valuable experience last year. Hampton is coming off a torn ACL and is a bit older. He does tend to show out in preseason so we'll see. My thought is Wesley, Jackson, Hampton

This was in regards to the last position on the roster as a DB.

I think Jackson could surpirise some people this year, hes blistering fast, we will see.

They liked him, said hje was solid for them. He could do good this year b/ with our CB's he will get some playing time unless hes injured.
