Next Miami Dolphins Head Coach Odds

I'm not sure if Ross really feels this way, or is essentially letting the season play out. If Miami continues to lose the McDaniel way (self-inflicted mistakes, no desire in the second half), can't imagine McDaniel survives.

I also believe Ross will have these conversations with the new GM.

Agree. Just my opinion, but I believe Ross and Mcd had a discussion about his future which is why the ATL game was so different. If Miami reverts to pre-ATL (I suspect it will), that convo will be 'revisited.'

That or Ross genuinely has love for McDaniel. On a personal level, I imagine McD is quite likable, Ross might just love him and looks at him as some sort of adopted son.

It wouldn't be the first time Ross puts his affection for an individual in front of whats best for the team.
I don't know how? I can't even stand to hear McDaniel talk ... its just a meandering stream of word salad & baloney!!

He talks like that in press conferences to avoid getting asked alot of questions. Hes on a time limit so the longer he can filibuster, the less questions he has to anwser. I hate it too but Ross may not care about the press conferences.

Who knows with Ross, its impossible to figure out what hes thinking or even what his motivations are, does he want to win? Does he want to just make money? Does he just want to have a cool stadium to host as many events as possible? Does he want to just have a fun side business with jungle gyms and water slides like an adult playground?

Ross is a hard dude to figure out.

That is not what the article said.

For fun, let's say Ross is all about business. which team would bring the higher resale value - the current Dolphins, or a Dolphins team wining at least 10 games the last 5 years, 3 of those year winning the AFC-E and one being in the AFC championship?
Increasing the value of his team is 'making money.' Yes, I understand he may not be around for the sale, 😥 but he understands net worth.

Possibly. Maybe Ross also thinks it's more lack of talent and, therefore, on Grier?

My best guess is he's waiting to make a decision on McDaniel. I can't imagine McDaniel is safe.

His loyalty to Grier for as long as he was, makes me doubt "winning at all costs" is at the top of his priorities. Grier has been historically bad at drafting and it wasnt just latley, we were bad at drafting when he was a scout, the head of scouting and as GM. If Ross was seriously trying to build a winner, Grier would have left with Flores. It was apparent Grier had no control over things in the building during Flores tenure.

Just a thought.
Grier was telling Ross Mcd was the problem.
Mcd was telling Ross Grier was the problem.
Sadly, both were right.

The only guys in that article i like are Kafka - he helped teach up Mahomes plus in the Reid coach tree, and LaFleur. I would also like Mike McCarthy - hes won and coached in SBs, and Lane Kiffin - been a head coach prior and has a good program at Ole Miss. I would also consider Shula for obvious reasons, Saleh, Joseph, and Sheppard...

Mike LaFleur from the Rams would be along the similar offensive philosophy as we have. It's a winning offense. Could be paired with Jon Eric Sullivan as GM from the Packers. That's like McDaniel just a different guy to appease the crowd and chop off one more head. And give the GM the same start with the head coach.

I would consider Brian Hartline, not on the list. Successful. Competitive. He is into it, I just don't know if he is into competing for Super Bowl. And bring in Matt Patricia too to coach the defense.

The list is sht. No doubt.

Ummmm, so what 'competitive' head coach *wouldn't* be 'into competing for (the) Super Bowl'?

Winning the Super Bowl is what being an NFL head coach is ultimately about, hmmmm?
