Next Overpaid Dolphins Who Need To Go

I’m convinced you could get a 2 and a 4 for Achane right now and I’d have to strongly consider that. 185 lb rbs especially as lead backs aren’t gonna have much shelf life.

Someone would absolutely take him as a big time mismatch piece etc. if they offered a 1 I wouldn’t think twice about it. Hell of a player but that frame and position value it just doesn’t add up for me when I’m gutting my roster and starting over.

Brewer 4th round pick gone. Brooks 4th round pick id probably keep. For now. Day 2 they both are gone.

Waddle is the piece that I’d have to consider the most. A 1 and a 3 goodbye. He can produce at a higher clip with more consistent downfield passing qb play. I have no doubts.

You couldn’t get pocket lent for anything else we have on offense.

A 4 for minkah bye. That’s about all you could trade unless you are gonna take a massive hit on chop or something. Which I would do. I just don’t see it. Probably just better to hang on for another year at this point however.

Seilers contract is probably not moveable yet. Even at his best he was never a top 10 dt. IMO.

Grant gets another year but he better really step it up and I better stop getting sniffs that the athlete limits the ceiling. That 7 score on the ras shows up on tape at the pro level.

He really came on the 2nd half of the season. I’m keeping him.
About the time the rooks started getting it. Seiler was taking on a lot of responsibility.

As far as moving him, he could be a trade deadline move. If they were to move him before June 1 he's going to count $7m against the cap. If they wait till after June 1 there is a savings. That being said, I am keeping him. Still a top performer, and a team leader.

I was looking at teams who have a need at RB.

The Chiefs would make a lot of sense for Achane. If we get picks 40 and 109 then I would do it.

If we dont want to trade Waddle to a division rival then how about the Giants? They have pick 37 in 2026. If they also give us their 2nd in 2027 then I would make that trade. A high 2 and another 2 is about as good as a low 1 and a 3.

Trading Fitz make a lot of sense. The Rams have a need in their secondary. I would trade Fitz for pick 93.

So you believe that posting a big neon "FIRE SALE!!" sign is going to get the Dolphins this much in return for these veterans, many of whom you otherwise would have them jettison?

Utter balderdash. I'm very glad you are not the Dolphins GM.

true, but we have to be prepared to pony up pay wise or lose Achane for nothing. I think he'll sign a decent long term contract with us. This is where GMs earn their pay and where Grier failed miserably
Certainly hope so. I hate us developing potential great players only for them to really shine elsewhere

I saw some prediction numbers on his extension and they are not small. I would take the 2nd and 4th.

Edit: if an extension isn’t likely see if they can get a 2nd and 3rd. :ffic:

Hate to say it but Achane and Waddle could supply us with some nice picks but man I'd love to keep Achane if he signs friendly but why would he
What is friendly deal in 2026. Rb dont get paid that much money. If they want him. They make it wk.

If we can get a second and a third, or a second and fourth, trade Achane.

Waddle should be held onto unless we can obtain a first and one other pick.

It’s really hard to build a winning culture when you decide to trade or cut any and all players that can help us get wins.
One could make a case that keeping players that were part of a "losing culture" could be just as detrimental.

Not saying I come down on that side, but it's kind of a weak arguement, IMO.
