Next Year Cap?

Who are we going to lose to create cap room to start the rebuild process of the o-line and an defensive line that isn't getting any younger? Do we have the room or ability to make the right moves to get stronger in these areas?

And no...I am not giving up on the season, just wondering what the possiblilities are for next.

Jesus dude, don't you think its a little early to be talking about this. I'll let it slide though because I was born in Bluffton.
 
Alot contracts are up next year some of the fallowing come to mind..
(1) Vonnie Holliday
(2) Kieth Traylor
(3) Donnie Spragan

We need to build some youth on the team which is something that is holding us back.

:sidelol: No need to let things "slide", I am just thinking ahead...and I am positive that I am not the only one who has had the same question. I am not giving up on the year....was just curious is all.:sidelol:

if Keith Traylor doesnt wanna retire, ill keep him...he's still better than anyone else out there. I would also keep Vonnie Holliday, Donnie Spragan is a goner. But thinking about DT....r u all forgetting about Rodrigue Wright? We have Manny Wright, Fred Evans, and Rod Wright...even Kevin Vickerson. Those 4 guys need to get groomed FAST, so that our older-slower guys can leave.
 
Marty Booker is gone, unless something changes on the oline I expect James and Shelton to be cut. Seeing as how Berger is coming on, Toledo and Mckinney are returning. We should be able to free up enough room right there for a stud Oline free agent, if there are any available. But we also need a blocking TE. Justin Peele is a wussie. Jacox will probably get cut as well if he even finishes the season with us.
 
On the offensive side, McKinney and McIntosh are on one-year deals, but we're stuck with Shelton and James through 2009.

Shelton and James arent that bad. I think Saban really liked Shelton,thats why he signed him to a long deal...i wish we woulda kept Mike Pearson, we could put him in to see how he does...its not like our Line would be any worse. Still tho, Saban needs to ditch the big fat guys...theyre slow and lazy.

Ya, but that doesn't mean Saban can't cut Shelton and James. Their contracts run through 2009, but that doesn't mean they will be here until then.
 
Booker, DMac, James will be gone. Spragon will be gone if not just for Depth and zgonina. We have evans, vickerson, R Wright, and M. Wright maybe that will either play next year or not. Hill will be gone and Tillman. Draft a S and keep bell and 1 more for depth.

I had to throw a shout out to my fellow hoosier. good luck to ya brotha.
 
If the season is a dismal failure (like its starting out to be) I think we can expect a purge of this roster and yes that will include JT and ZT. Saban will try and get whatever he can is a trade.
Saban will probably undertake a major rebuilding effort, but first he will have to get way under the cap and a major purge is the only way to do it.
