Next Year Decisions?

Man, why don't some people cut the kid some slack, it's almost like he's Rosen out there. If he does well Cowturd will be on his jock like the Kardashians on money...****in ridiculous

Tua is a rookie. Don't expect final judgement for rookies. He has shown excellent judgement and decision making. And ... he's shown to be a rookie--indecisive and sometimes confused leading to sacks or runs when he should be passing, or just holding the ball too long and missing windows. Why? Because he's a rookie!

What we've seen is a kid with no offseason, coming off a long-term and very serious injury rehab, who has already displayed exceptional decision making and solid accuracy. If Coach Flo is able to keep our defense firing on all cylinders for the next decade, then Tua can be perfect.

But, he'll be fully healed next year. He'll have a wealth of experience upon which to draw. He'll be beyond the rookie jitters and the deer in the headlight syndrome. And, very importantly, his arm will be stronger because he will be able to confidently torque his healed hips. But, the biggest thing will be his comfort with these players and the quality pre-season he will have. Look, young QB's develop sporadically, but they almost all develop. It would be premature to call the Daytona 500 after 100 laps, so I'm not interested in judging Tua by his rookie season alone. Data suggests he is going to be a solid to good QB.

If we had the #1 overall pick and Trevor Lawrence were available, we would have to re-assess. But we don't, and IMHO, Tua should be backed and our team built around him.

What do we do?

We bring in another QB, but in the third or fourth round. We can afford that easily. We look for a guy that we think we might be able to work with. Maybe a Trask or a Ridder... maybe Carson Strong comes out, he just threw 5 TDs vs. Tulane. There are others... Smart teams have a backup plan, and I think we are a smart team these days.

For me, it depends what we add in FA. I think we need a WR (slot), a RB, a C, an OT, a DE, one or two LBs and a FS. Maybe a hulking NT type. We do need a backup QB, or we can sign Fitz to another year or two. We may have a good/decent team right now, but I think that's a lot of coaching, which is good. We still need talent upgrades to really be a SB contender. Yeah, I know I'm stating the obvious.

It'll be interesting to see how much of that we can obtain in one year... I'm less interested in bringing in a FS or a NT than you are, but every team has needs and sometimes I think luck plays into which ones that you manage to find first.

we have to do something. this team is too good now to waste an entire season forcing tua if it just isn't happening.

Well... most people don't like this answer, but here's mine.

Andy Dalton.

He's a FA, and he has shown that he was able to come into Dallas and play well enough. He is no star, but I think he is probably more reliable than Fitz, and he made 3 million this year. We could give him 5 easily.

Media flip flops way too much. Tua has a great game against the Bills he'll be "Miami's quarterback of the future." If he struggles he'll be considered a bust and Miami needs to draft Fields or Wilson.

Obviously Tua needs to improve and be more consistent but there's no way I'm giving up on him now. Hopefully he can have a true offseason and Miami can get more weapons to build that offense

i don't know everyone that will be available but i'd imagine it's slim pickins. i'd have no problem with dalton and a mid-round prospect and carrying 3 QBs
