Who will be our FB next season?

Barnes did absolutely nothign for us.

I think Sammy Morris should be our FB, Despite being undersized, I think he will bring alot to our offense.

He run catch, run and block well.
 
We need a fullback who can block very well first off and catch secondly. We don't need a runner from the FB spot.
 
Does anyone know if the guy from Navy will be able to play for us next year?

Uh, no. He was a good run blocker.

Uh, no. He was an absolutely terrible run blocker. Go look at Nublar's highlight film for the Saints game. Look for Sammy Morris lead blocking. You wont find it, because none of the plays he was the lead blocker on were highlight worthy. They were all short gains, and Morris failed pretty completely to open any holes. After a few carries with him lead blocking, they stuck with two TE sets for the rest of the game.

Sammy Morris is a situational, Patrick Pass type player. He's not a run blocker.

I dont know what Miami is going to do for a fullback. With Linehan, we were probabaly going to move towards a big, 260+ H-Back, but now I dont know.

I agree w/ 'Disgustipate'... Barnes was a stud blocker for the Phins this season. Just think how the run game will improve even more with last season under our belts.

You may not believe this, but guys can actually get out of the military for things like hitting the lottery, or Joining the NFL. I forget exactly what it's called, but it has something to do with being able to better your life by getting out of the service. And YES it really can happen, I used to think it was BS, but somebody in my Platoon when I was in the army got out for that because he got a recording contract.

I guess that shows his commitment and loyalty. I wish him the best at whatever he is doing next year and my toughts and prayers go out to all the sevice men and woman and hope they all return asap.

Are you kidding? Darren Barnes was an absolute monster in regards to blocking. The only FB I can think of off hand who I'd take over him is Dan Kreider. His blocking was magnificant. Not to mention in our current style of offense the FB doesn't do a whole lot of running. The H-back may be getting alot more receptions in the future though. But personally I was quite impressed with the success out of the backfield last year. I say keep Barnes, we need a bruiser like him. Intensity is something our team has lacked for years, it is nice to see it coming out again.

I think he signs a contract when you go to the Naval Academy. He has to serve. Staubach, the RB from the raiders Napoleon M, both had to serve.

You got to be kidding me. Barnes did a very good job at blocking for us this season. I think that somebody is judging a player based on his stats.
 
barnes did a good job last season and with another year under his belt he should do better but we need a lorenzo neal on this team that my friends would be exciting....
