With the Patriots Vince Wilfork and Richard Seymour entering the last year's of their contracts this season, I think only Seymour will be resigned to an extension.
Very good NT are hard to find with so many teams going to the 3-4 base defense...and maybe the Dolphins making a strong push next year to get Wilfork who should be in for a big pay day? Any thoughts???

I'd rather develop a young guy and not pay a huge amount to a free agent.

If there are no young guys available, then maybe go after a free agent. Wilfork will NOT be cheap. I'm sure he'll expect Haynesworth type money.

the second they drafted brace i figured theres a possibility we go after Wilfork because we wont need much else next year !!

We should sign him AND draft another high IMO.

I love Wilfork but not enough to pay him what he's worth, if that makes any sense.

I still have hope for Paul Soliai. I think the front office does also, otherwise he would have been released this past offseason following a season where the team suspended him twice. They wouldn't take that from him and keep him on the team if they didn't think he can develop into a good NT.

People here have said that Vince hates the Dolphins and will never play for him.

I tend to agree with this.

Soliai has given the team numerous reasons to release him for his lateness to meetings, etc. The only reason the front office has kept him around is that it must see some potential in him.

You always seem to mention Paul solai all the time. I doubt this guy is ever going to get his act together, let alone fill in a roll that demands so much responsability.

yes accrding to CNNSI . They have 4 DT's ranked in he top 20 for next year
And the pats set themselves up well for next years draft (considered a stronger draft) with 2 2nd round picks. They will be ready to get new talent if Seymour and/or Wilfork leave via FA

i dont think they had brace very high on their draft board, and this years class of NT was not good at all. whats the point of trying to get a square peg to fit in a circle just cause its a need? wait another year, then draft someone who really fits our system in next years draft.

I think it will all depend. We're in phase 2 of the 3 phases. IMO next yr is the big impact guys that will be added. If you have to have a NT, why not get the best in the business in Wilfolk?
