Miami has Brandon Marshall, who has had a drama-filled career in the NFL, and Davone Bess as their starting wide receivers. Third-year pro Brian Hartline, who started 12 games last year, also had a decent season in 2010.
It is an uncertain group after them. Journeymen like Patrick Carter and John Matthews are fighting second-year undrafted players like Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore for roster spots.
Julius Pruitt is a practice squad player who also wants a job, as does undrafted free agent rookie Phillip Livas. Speedy Clyde Gates, who the Dolphins selected in the fourth round of the 2011 draft, is also in the mix.
The top three receivers are set in Miami, but the inexperience that follows has to be cause for concern. Miami want to snag a veteran off the waiver wire just in case one of their starters gets hurt.

I think there is a future Hall of Famer who lives in Miami named Randy Moss.....he might be available.
 
Another article that is not up to date. Our receivers are more than solid with Marshall, Bess, Hartline and Gates, the oline is is biggest weakness.
 
Pure speculation by the writer (from a Redskins site). They fail to realize Reggie Bush can easily be used as a 4th WR, if need be, and he has experience lining up as a WR while we bring along the younger players on the roster. Of course the fastest way to train a receiver is to let him play. Devone Bess was inexperienced once, as a rookie, and he did better than fine.

IDK you bring in a vet who do you cut? bm, bess, hartline all have game experience, gates should factor in, which leaves a 5th wr spot for the likes of moore or wallace both of whom will make noise in this league, and livas. so who do you cut or stunt the growth of to make room for a vet who's main purpose will be, *just in case of injury*. if you bring in another WR they would have to be the unquestioned number 2 guy.
 
I read this a while ago and laughed at the thought that WR was our big need to get guys off waivers.
