NFL.com article on black centers

I hate **** like that, who cares if they're black or white if they can play they can play maybe there aren't alot of black centers because they're faster than us white folks so they get pulled from center and put at pulling gaurd, maybe this chump needs to write an article on how many white pulling gaurds there are in the league.

i cant believe i just read through all of that. WHO ****IN CARES?!??!? u could say that to a lot of positions "There's more black quarterbacks than black punters, kinda makes u wonder about your position." its all just so stupid

I agree. The criteria should be whether or not a person can play the game. It wasn't too long ago that black quarterbacks were taboo, but then some pretty good ones came along and proved it doesn't matter the color of your skin.
 
the news ppl see color more than us, and then make a big deal about it like when vick and mcnabb were in teh nfc champ game i dont care if there black white chineese, if they can play they will be there, dont make a big deal outta **** that doesnt need to be made a big deal about.

If this writer wants to start another racial controversy in the NFL (and believe me, that's where something like this would be headed), why not discuss the greatest racial disparity issue in the whole league? Blacks account for about 10% of the U.S. population, yet probably constitute about 60 or 70% of the NFL. So is pro football discriminatory against whites and Asians? It isn't like there aren't millions of white kids playing football in high schools all over the country.

All any of this crap amounts to is race quotas and profiling. One person replying to that article said:

"Let's take it one step further.... most large companies have to have a quota of minorites. I want the same thing done in sports. That means basketball has to have so many whites, football has to have so many whites, asians etc. This is all bogus. The best man for the job, regardless of race."

well i have never really thaught about how many black centers there are. kinda strange, but he makes a good point. something to think about, not that i ever see any "pressure" being put on teams to put a black man at center.
 
Teams just get the best player available reguardless of color.

The whole race crap is BS.
 
Look...I am not a racist!...But there are some people who won't be happy till every player in the NFL is black...It's sick demented bullsh*T to even bring this stuff up when we've come so far in this country regarding race relations. If anything, it's the white male who is being descriminated against the most in this country and you don't see people writing about that....Just leave it be idiots!
