I just saw that Jamie Winborn has apparentley cleaned out his locker and has left the team amidst trade talks. How about trading for him. My buddy is a Niner fan and I catch some of their games and he is an aggressive physical player. I think he would fit perfect in the Saban System. What do you guys think?

It isn't a bad idea I suppose. 5'11" 242 pounds. Kind of a bowling ball type. It says he lost his starting job last week. I don't know how that slipped past me, but it did. Sounds like a personality clash between he and Nolan. They seem hellbent on moving him so you may be able to get him for cheap. Maybe ship Pope or better yet, Howard ( and that contract ) back for Winborn. He would give us solid depth.

The problem is he wants to be a starter and he wouldn't be here, so you could have the same problems arise. I could see the Pats snatching him though considering their lack of depth at LB.

is it bad that ive never heard of him?

i saw this earliar...i guess he loss his job to Andre Carter...i wouldnt really mind having him here

:boohoo: im sorry can someone fill me in at least

2005: $1.75 million
2006: $3 million
2007: $3 million
2008: $3 million
2009: $3 million

This may have as much to do with it

I like what Nolan has done so far. Problem with Winborn was that he went to Vandy.

Winborn is better than Crowder and Spragan and after a few weeks in the system would earn a starting spot. I don't think we should bring him in though. We have good chemistry and run stopping ability at the moment and they shouldn't fix something that's nowhere near broke.

We should keep the cap space for next off-season.

Well, I disagree that he is better than Crowder. Perhaps right now due to Channing being a rookie. But mark my words, Channing has WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more upside than Winborn will ever have and will be the anchor of our LB corps once Thomas and Seau are gone.

Winborn better than Crowder? Puhhlease.

Winborn is fairly good. He is with other Solid linebackers in terms of skill.

He was released by the 49ers today according to NFL network.

But I wouldn't say he is better than Crowder. In this system it would take him a long enough time to learn it well enough to be starting. He would add nice linebacker depth but he left San Fran because he didn't want to be backup. I don't think we would take a shot at him at all.

i think it would be great to bring him in. people are saying we dont need another linebacker, but i'm sorry, i dont think you can ever have enough young athletic players on your squad. Zach and Junior are both amazing, yet Seau will likely retire after this season and Zach is mildly injury prone because he tries so damn hard. i think it would be great to have another linebacker to rotate in to save some of the wear on Junior and Zach and allow Crowder, Spragan and Winborn serve as the future of our LB's.
