I just saw tonight in NFL.com's Fantasy Football Preview magazine that they have Ronnie Brown ranked #4 out of RBs. They got him running for 1400 yds and 12 TDs.....sounds good to me......

ur thoughts?

Ronnie Brown will be a great RB this year, he can carry the job by himself. Sounds good to me.

Who do we get when Michael Bennett misses a few games because he's injured...again?
Sammie Morris will do just fine as Ronnie's backup.

personally, i think hes gonna have over 1400, but i'd say thats the right 'unbiased' number.

Oh man, tell me they have Ronnie listed higher than Cadillac.

I guess I'm surprised but only inasmuch as they recognize the same things I do here. Ronnie's got a coordinator that guides 1600+ yard ground games every other year. He's as RB-friendly as Norv Turner was when he arrived at the same time as Ricky. The Scott Linehan playbook is also run-friendly, lest we forget in either 2002 or 2003 the Vikings led the league in rushing. Ricky & Ronnie also combined for 1650 rush yards last year. Top that off with Sammy Morris being his backup and likely only getting just enough carries to keep Ronnie from being worn out...and you've got the makings for a pretty good runningback season.

Assuming Ronnie and most of the O-line stays healthy, 1400 yards should be quite reachable. Though I won't be the least bt surprised if he surpasses that number. GO RONNIE!!!!!!!!!! Dislocate more shoulders of our opponents this year, but try and make sure we are playing the patriots when you do that, OK?

should I should keep Brown over Portis? I am in a keepers league and none of us decided who to dump yet but we need to know soon

Yeah I loved that, even with Ronnie having a quiet day against the Broncos he still hit Champ Bailey so hard in a one-on-one tackle that he dislocated his shoulder. That actually was one of the keys to us pulling out to such a lead at the end.

When I wrote my game review afterwards I think I said something like:

Matchup: Ronnie Brown vs. Al Wilson
Who Lost: Champ Bailey

Being VERY honest here, since this is a keeper league, I say keep Portis. I believe Ronnie's 2006 prospects are as good as Clinton Portis' however, right now Ricky Williams is actually scheduled to come back in 2007 and that will mean shared carries again for another two years...assuming Ricky keeps his nose clean (HUGE assumption).

Portis is "the" man in Washington. They traded a lot to get him. Having him as a keeper is equivalent to having Ricky as keeper back when Ricky first came to Miami prior to 2002. Ricky flaked out and retired but there is no such danger with Portis. He should continue to reward you with top 5 or at the very least top 10 fantasy RB performances for years.

Another reason the vikes were successful running was the 600 or 700 yards they were getting from the qb position.
