NFL.com- Moreno Video

Moreno told reporters during Friday's introductory conference call that he will have to beat out Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas for lead-back duties.

****! Can we just cut Thomas already!?

He's by far a better back than anything on the roster. I was bored and went back and looked at some youtube stuff on him. One thing I noticed is they have this strange concept in Denver where the OL actually blocks somebody. I think he could have a great year if Miami could do this. Miller could probably come in and have some nice runs also.

The ZBS has to work. Moreno is a slashing runner with good vision who will work well in the system. Even better than Miller I think because there were times I saw that Miller just didn't see an opening which was there. Regardless of what players we have on the O line, if they're not all working together and know what they're doing, there's going to be no room to run.

What happens if one of our running backs blows out a knee or is injured during
our training camps at least you still have Thomas who if you forgot still scored almost
20% of our teams offensive touchdowns. More tds than anyone on this team except for Clay

Relax with the cut Thomas already, let it work itself out

It would be stupid to not cut Thomas and use a late round pick on a possible better power back. Or give Gilslee a chance to play. Thomas was a bust of a draft pick. He is not good, has fumbling issues, cant block, cant catch, cant pick up blitzes, cant pick up short first downs, injury issues. We are better off letting Gilislee get a chance to win that spot and maybe drafting a HB in the 4th round or later.

Id rather have a FB on the team over Thomas. Somebody we can use to pick up short yardage first downs and who can block.

Seems like a great guy. Actually saw some leadership from him (leading the pregame huddle) so that's a plus. I think its a solid pickup for the "prove it" 1-year deal. Could turn into a Brandon Gibson / Grimes type signing.

But damn, those explosive tear ducts! wow, that is freakish.

I got to admit even though I worry a little about the Dolphins stocking up on "average" players, unfortunately that includes Moreno over the entire span of his career. I like the signing and he seems like a good guy to have on this roster. And they got him for nothing to boot!

Yeah I noticed that too. A lot of teams are doing this blocking thing now. I guess the idea behind it is if you can keep your QB from getting hit every single play then he may actually be able to throw better passes. All this time we've all been thinking that being under constant duress and pain would be a good thing! I think maybe it's time for the Dolphins to try this new tactic. Be early adopters! It's how you win in this league!

Then you need to type in "lamar Miller 2012 highlights" and compare that to anything you see on Moreno. I'm not saying he's light years ahead of Moreno, but he is definitely not behind him. Miller possesses a quickness that Moreno can only read about. If you watched videos of last year on Miller and are using that to base how good he is at hitting holes you're fooling yourself. There weren't any holes last year to hit. Miller is still the best back on our roster.
