"Stats of the Week No. 6 Miami had a scoring drive of minus-4 yards. Stat noted by reader Nate L. of Kansas City, Mo."
"Buck-Buck-Brawckkkkkkk Trailing 27-13 in the fourth quarter, Miami faced fourth-and-1 on its 24 and punted. Sure the Marine Mammals were deep in their territory, but it was the fourth quarter, Miami was trailing big, the average NFL play gains more than four yards and in the game, as noted by Mikey Morris of West Palm Beach, Florida, the Dolphins averaged 6.1 yards per play. As the punt boomed, TMQ wrote the words "game over" in his notebook. In cases like this TMQ asks -- trailing by 14 in the fourth quarter and facing fourth-and-1, is there one chance in a million Bill Belichick doesn't go for it? Anyway a buck-buck-brawckkkkkkk pattern is forming under Nick Saben. As David Kennedy of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, points out, against Buffalo, Miami punted on fourth-and-5 in Bills' territory despite being down by 10 points; against City of Tampa, punted on fourth-and-7 from the Bucs' 35 despite being down by 7 points."

It was a bad decision..cant deny that

True but you also cant deny, that the writer is a ***** for insulting Saban behind his back. That bieng sad I expect a boxing match between the two and I am betting on Saban to win.

How is it a bad decision? Our stats are completely skewed by two long plays; chambers 77 yard catch, and the ronnie brown run. Outside of those two plays, our offense was a no show. We had the ball for 18 minutes. I can garuntee you tha if we don't make the 4the down play, KC scores a TD. Shoot they could have kept scoring the whole game, but Dick Vermiel had sympathy for Phins and Saban at home, that's why he started running the ball on 4th down with 6 min. left in the game.
As far as the biills game, not going for it on 4th down did not hurt us, unfortunately our phenom. rookie fumbled the ball. It happens the rookie was trying to make a big play. Saban is doing the best job he can, with the crap offensive line he has. After, Hudson Houck's first year with the chargers, he got rid of the entire offensive line because they were terrrible, do not be surprised if it happens in Miami.

If he had gone for it and come up short, KC would likely have scored again and every sportswriter out there would be calling it a reckless move. Can't win with these guys.

COMPLETELY disagree.....we should have went for it on 4th down in Buffalo, and we should have went for it on 4th down in Tampa.....unless having Mare punt for 12 yards was in the gameplan.

Another point....I have often seen opposing players actually INTERCEPT the ball inside the 10 yard line rather than "knocking it down on 4th down" and gaining possession at the line of scrimmage. Instead of "pooch" punting, a pass inside the 10 gives the same results you are looking for, EXCEPT there is the CHANCE the Fins could actually convert the 1st down and change momentum and have 1st and goal......

The writer has a good point

Not really. If he really wanted to complain, the deep pass on 3rd and 1 is a much better candidate for it. That was a questionable decision, but was in no way "chicken", in fact it was overly-aggressive.

hey! i agree with him 100% it was 2nd and 1, and 3rd 1, and we passed it both times. i said to myself, well since he passed it 2nd and 3rd down hes going for it. I was wrong. I think we should of gone for it.

Ronnie carried the ball how many times AFTER the 65 yard run that started the 3rd quarter?????? anyone?
