NFL.com's "Greatest team of all time" eliminated all Dolphin teams already??

The 2007 Patriots going up against any team from the 1970s would get utterly crushed, assuming that the 1970s team was actually, you know, allowed to play defense the way they were in that era.

Wes Welker would leave the stadium in a bodybag.
 
Had I known I would have voted, but it's really not debatable. The 1972 Dolphins are inarguably the best team of all time.
 
That's only because of the current perception of the team now. The 72 Fins is the best team of all time.

Only in a computer they are...but on the field the '73 team beats them. Just look at the post-season, the '73 Dolphins cruised thru three opponents, while the '72 team struggled to win each game (and against lesser opponents than the '73 squad).

I'm a fan who started going to games in 1969 and my premise is something Dolphin fans don't want to hear, but if they think about it, it makes sense...The '72 Dolphins are not the greatest team of all time...I'm not even sure they make the top five, HOWEVER, they did accomplish the greatest feat in NFL history...which is even more special in my book.

Look, it's no insult to the 1980 US hockey team to say they were not as good as the Russians...but they won the gold medal, which is better than being better.

Well said. Even Shula said the '73 team was better than the undefeated team and having watched both years teams and Super Bowls there is no doubt in my mind which team was the better one.
