Haven't been here in awhile, I am glad to be back!! If we don't trade down, I am really hoping we draft Lamp if he is still there. I think this is really needed to just shore up our Offense and the rest of the picks, go defense heavy. What's on everyone's wish list this upcoming draft.

Not an offensive lineman in the first round. That's what is on my wish list.

I just want Miami to get a difference maker. I think the team can do that at #22 and perhaps #54 as well. In the best case scenario, the Dolphins could find a difference maker at linebacker and defensive end.

I'm not opposed to Lamp or Robinson in round one as the offensive line is a huge need, but I'd prefer almost exclusively defense in the draft. I think round two is probably where Miami looks for offensive line help.

Fair enough. Ideal situation for me is to trade down, and get a second 3rd rd pick. Can't wait, 12 days to go.

I don't want Lamp in the first... We need an impact player on the front 7... We can get an suitable upgrade to our O Line in the 3rd but the D talent will be seriously diminished compared with the first.

Need to go defense first 2 rounds Imo. Wouldn't be mad at a guard in the 2nd, but definitely would in the first

If Forest Lamp presents the most value at our pick (which I would prefer came in a trade down) I am the last guy who would complain. I love OL. I especially love QB's so I think protecting 17 is vital to our success. If we give RT a clean pocket and Ajayi room to maneuver we will kill teams.

That said, I recognize our needs on defense and would lean towards a LB or DE, but value is value. I jumped for joy when we added Tunsil and I would do the same for a LG.

I am biased, I love QB's, I consider myself a QB, I watch the game from the pocket. Dan Marino and Ryan Tannehill are my two favorite players. Dan because of what he was, Ryan because of what he could be.

If Hassan Reddick is available, it's an easy decision for me. If Malik Hooker were magically available, again an easy decision for me. Ruben Foster, Derek Barnett? Again easier decision.

We could see up to 15 defensive players come off the board in the first 22 picks.

With so many question marks surrounding the QB's, WR's and RB's in the draft I am keeping an open mind and being prepared to be surprised with our selection. So many teams are 50/50 on potentially taking a QB that if we see a run on them, suddenly the teams behind us (Houston, KC in the 1st, Cleveland, SF and Chicago in early 2nd) will be in play to move up. Value is the only player I want. Val V. Value, from Value State is the only guy I want.

I think a qb run early would greatly benefit us as well as a wr and RB run. The more the better Imogen. Great post BTW

He's a good player but I think that there is a very high probability that it's a Defensive player, because that's where we have the obvious biggest needs.

Good point, Ghost. Honestly I know offensive lineman aren't considered difference makers, but you could make a case that they are. If a lineman can hold a block 1-2 seconds longer than the average that could very well be the difference between a sack and a big play for the offense. Give almost any quarterback time to throw and he's going to have success.

Watch the Dallas offensive line move people in the ground game and that's making a huge impact. I read somewhere that the Cowboys running backs averaged three yards gained before an initial hit. That's unreal.

I do believe the value at offensive guard will be in the second round, but Miami definitely needs to get one pretty early. I don't know if a starter will be available in round three on the offensive line.

I too think we can find a LG in the second round, the only potential hiccup is possibly waiting for one to fall to us. If we land the defender we want at 22, we can't wait for that guard to fall to us because that is traditionally where guards go. On the flip side, you could say the same thing about LB's. If we take a guard in the first, I don't think we can wait for a LB at 54.

This draft needs to broken down into 3 segments. 22 and 54 should be viewed as spots where we need immediate contributor's.

Pick 97 is a wildcard pick. It's late in round 3 and there is so much space between our previous spot and our next spot, you almost can't rely on that pick to get the starter you want. That's a pick you take a gamble on. A Sidney Jones, Jake Butt eg. A pick for the future. Now if there is a guy floating around after the 80th or so pick and you view him as a starter, doesn't cost you much to go up and get him. (No sarcastic comments about Leontee Carroo needed). Adam Sheehan, the TE from small school Ashland Chollege intrigues me.

Rounds 5-7 you is where you trust your scouts and maybe double up on a position of need and hope one guy emerges as a pleasant surprise. It happened with Reshad Jones, Jay Ajayi and Rishard Mathew's.

Miami has done a nice job in the later rounds recently. I think the team could find a starter at #97, but agree you never know who will drop. I'm kind of hoping for Tomlinson there at DT. I think he'd be a good run stopper and challenge Jordan.

Also, with the talent at safety there could be someone available at that position. Plus, there's always the possibility of a trade up. The Dolphins could do that if there's an early run on offensive lineman in round 2.

Would be a terrible decision to draft a guard in the first round when there will be guards available later that aren't a huge drop off from Lamp. Is Lamp the best guard prospect in this draft? Sure. Are Dorian Johnson, Dion Dawkins, and Dan Feeney huge drop offs? Absolutely not. One, two, or all three of those guys will be available at 54. Hell, I'm in favor of skipping guard until comp 3. I like Asiata, Pocic, and Sharpe too.

There are several second and third round options at guard that can come in and start day one. You want to talk about a huge drop off in talent? Take a look at the DE prospects in round one vs. later. Night and day.

I think the Dolphins are looking at DE at 22 and either LB or FS at 54. If the draft falls that way for them, I think they'd then look at packaging one of those fifths to move up in the third for Asiata.

Three players I'd be furious with at 22: Lamp, Peppers, McDowell.

We can pick the 4th best edge rusher (Willis)...

The 3rd best LB (Davis)...

Or the top ranked G/backup LT (Lamp).
