Has us going with Branch, Stanton, McCauley, and Harris. And still thinks we're might go with Carriker though. I wouldn't mind the Branch pick. But I think we can do better with our 2nd rounders other than McCauley and Stanton. And Harris is no better than Alabi considering the poor state of the ND line.

if Brady Quinn is available the Vikings, Texans or Dolphins could come up.
That I'd be interested in. But unlikely.

I've been praying we go with Branch. I really wanted Ngata and we missed out on him, hopefully we can get a big young freak to come in and anchor our defense at the NT position for years to come. If Branch doesn't make it to #9 I'd like to see us go Landry or Ginn Jr. though.

*EDIT* Please no Paul Posluszny to New England. However I don't mind them picking a FB in the 1st round, that's just foolish. :D

I'd be pretty happy with those first three . . . although I still wonder if we shouldn't try to get one of those OL studs with one of those picks.

I would be very happy if thats what we walked away with. A nose-tackle that should be the anchor of our 3-4 defense for the next decade. McCauley has the physical tools to mature into a solid cornerback and should be able to provide nickelback help at the worst. While I still think the second round is too high to take Stanton, I wouldn't be mad if we took him with our later second rounder. Harris would be a pretty good value pick if we could land him in the third and should compete for the starting left tackle position.
So, provided these picks turn out right, we'll wind up with a franchise NT, a solid CB, potential franchise QB and a potential starter at left tackle. Sounds good to me.

Well, is a lot better than what they had the other day imo...I like the top 3 picks but really doubt that Stanton'll be there at 60 and the corner'll be gone way before that....I still want us to draft Ginn tho.

Ozzy rules!!

I think they probably got a bit of a backlash for their previous one, hence the hasty new mock.

i dislike picking Alan Branch...dont get me wrong i wont be upset if we chose him...but we already have Manny Wright and Fred Evans...Manny Wright played really well for us...Fred Evans showed potential. if Laron Landry isnt available at #9...then here is what i suggest (cuz im the GM, lol). Trade our #9 to acquire a later 1st round pick and ANOTHER 2nd round pick...giving us 3 picks in the 2nd ground. here is what id do (cuz im feeling that Landry wont be there at #9)

lets say we get #20,

1: Justin Blalock...OG/OT
2a. Drew Stanton...QB
2b. Zach Miller...TE
2c. Brian Leonard...FB
3. Marcus McCauley...CB
4. Dan Mozes....C
6. WR
7. WR

Are you kidding? Stanton may not make it into the 2nd rd. If he does Detroit will take him if they don't take Quinn in the 1st rd. There is no way he lasts until the end of the 2nd rd.

I aslo like the idea of moving down. Here why's: we would have so many options . We could hope Levi Brown falls to us(not likely, but could happen). We could draft Dwanye Bowe or Robert Meachem. We could also draft Arron Ross or Chris Houston. My point is we can trade down, get an extra first day pick while still picking up a quality starter in the 1st round.

Actually Levi Brown's very likely to fall us. After Miami and the Falcons (great chance they take Landry) there's no one who will take him. The Bills have a good future LT in Jason Peters, the Rams nope, the Panthers ehhhh maybe but I would think they want a linebacker or a safety first, the Steelers no, the Packers no, the Jaguars no, the Bengals no, the Titans no.

So you could drop all the way to 19 and have a good shot at Levi Brown.

If that does happen, the likelihood that Joe Staley could fall increases. Either way, if we pass on Brown, we're likely to get a better deal on a LT in the 2nd round. Brown I just don't feel is worth the 9th overall pick. To get him would have to be a need pick not a BPA pick.

Not one of the players he has us picking has been a consistent performer throughout their college career. Bad mock.

Interestingly, the article describes Branch as "a perfect fit for the Dolphins because he can play either tackle in a 4-3 or end in a 3-4". Oddly, they don't mention NT.

Branch was recently worked out at Michigan's Pro Day and the consensus was : He was not in good shape. Just what we need a big overweight overpaid rookie. i say : Pass on this young Big Daddy,

Why on earth would we go with BRANCH!!?!?!?!

WE ahve EVANS VICKERSON TRAYLOR WRIGHT AND WRIGHT. MORE THEN ENOUGH TO FIND OUT how they can play next year. aint like we goin SB or nething. (hope i jinx that loll)
