In 22 years as a head coach or head of football operations, Parcells has drafted wide receivers in the first round on only two occasions. And Glenn was one of them. Mark Ingram, drafted 28th overall in 1987 by the New York Giants, was the other.

''He thinks they're a dime a dozen,'' said former receiver Keyshawn Johnson, a close friend of Parcells who, ironically, was drafted first overall in 1996. ``He can find a good one pretty much anywhere.''

note: maybe Keyshawn is right, but consider this: 2 WR 1st rd. picks by Parcells in 22 years- if you look at the positions QB/RB/WR/OL/TE/DT/DE/
LB/CB/S- that's 10 positions. 22 years divided by 10 positions = 2.2 1st rd selctions per year all things being equal- which they're not. 2 1st rd WR picks is just below the mean (2.2). So what is all this about BP shying away from drafting 1st rd WR's? On average, he's right on track. Yes, he loves his OLB's, but I wouldn't consider the WR position ignored. And given his history of 2nd rd WR flops, maybe better to get what's really needed- a go to guy, a 3rd and 8, get me the ball guy, aggressive, size, good wheels, all of it. That would be Hakeem Nicks. Character guy, too. Better off imo making the pick count, veering towards value and a sure thing, no room for misses after two decades of a succession of flops- sans Jake Long and a few select others. Parcells was forced in to drafting T Glenn with his 1st. when he wanted, I believe Daryl Gardener, so I do have to factor that in. But, nonetheless, the Glenn pick did work out rather well, all of that "she" stuff aside.

I have a tendency to get opinionated quickly, it's just my way for better or worse. That being said, this guy I like- WR Dudley Guice. Speed, hands, size, production, everything. I wonder where he'll be drafted, all the elements are there for him to flourish in the NFL. I think that it was CK who mentioned him, good call. So what do you do, pass on Nicks and try to get Guice later? Maybe, but I'd rather get both.

I think it was one of the Cal Bears DEs, Regan Upshaw or Duane Clemons.

If Nicks is there at 25 I think, and I hope I'm wrong, Parcells will try to trade down for more picks in this draft and/or for more picks in next year's draft.

I think that trading down makes sense this year, we'll see what happens.
