Similar strategy that the Commanders went with when they drafted RG3. They also took Kirk Cousins in the third round as a hedge, which proved to be quite useful.

I think in the Dolphins case, despite the obvious and desperate need for a QB, they could be so devoid of talent, depending on what happens at the trade deadline, that they just couldn’t afford to take a 2nd QB that high.
 
2. DE Keldric Faulk - Rebuild the trenches. Chubb Phillips and Judon will be gone.

36. DB AJ Harris - Our secondary is a joke.

67. LB Harold Perkins Jr. - Brooks is the only decent LB we have.

74. OT Gennings Dunker - Replacement for Jackson at RT.

102 . DB D'Angelo Ponds - He could be an elite slot corner. Let our other young DB's compete to start opposite Harris.

137. TE Lawson Luckie - Waller will be gone and we need more legit pass catching options.

145. S Tao Johnson - Aside from Fitz we dont have any good Safeties.

219. OG Trey Zuhn - Address the trenches.

This draft starts to lay a foundation. Then draft a QB in 2027.
 
EDGE or OT has to be our top consideration. I’m not sticking a top 5 pick QB behind our OL. At some point we need to learn from Tannehill and Tua and build some kind of foundation before we take a QB.
 
Honestly if they win more games and fall from the top Qb's, I'm open to them selecting the bpa with Caleb Downs. He appears very self aware, smart guy and a dawg which is what this team needs more of! He's getting Polamalu comparisons...
 
If we clear out the roster there’s not much chance we will be good in ‘26 either. That could mean we could cherry pick in both the ‘26 and ‘27 drafts for a QB.

This year, even if we’ve ordered a code red already, we are dealing with the Saints. They are hopeless.

On the other hand, the Jets might beat us. Tennessee could also win a game or two more than us. Young qb developing. I just don’t know if we can get ahead of the Saints no matter how hard we try.

If not drafting a QB in round 1 every pick needs to be BPA.
 
if we trade minkah for 4th basically we traded ramsey jonu and minkah for a 4th lol
