NFL Mock Draft 2026

if we trade minkah for 4th basically we traded ramsey jonu and minkah for a 4th lol

Correct, we lost a 4th round pick, because in logic and math
If Ramsey + Jonnu = Minkah = 4th round, then
Ramsey + Jonnu + Minkah = 2 x 4th round,
but we only got 1 x 4th round, we got shafted
j/k

sad truth is next year we are gonna have no money to sign free agents because of 100+ million in dead cap with glaring holes at s/cb, de, and probably rt/rg. tho id keep daniels. trading down and gaining extra picks while taking a top RT talent wouldnt be a bad options, but nabbing a qb you believe in is not a bad idea either.

We are drafting someone from Ohio State.
Either Downs, or Styles, or Tate, or Reese.
Carnell Tate WR makes most sense based on positional salary distribution.

The Dolphins are currently projected to have about $34m in dead cap next year. That could definitely change, and will probably go higher, but that’s not all in one year and will fall off quickly.

The bottom line is, with about 6 cuts (Tyreek and Chubb being the major two) they can clear about $90m in cap space and that’s not counting the expected cap increase next year.

They need to fill a lot of holes, and it’s going to take more than the next draft/offseason to do it. However, if they actually get a GM who can draft/deal well, they should be looking good in 2027 and they won’t be in any cap trouble.

It's 34 now but that doesnt include Hill and Chubb. Then you have others and and possibly Tua that will push it over 100 million. Kyle Crabs does a great job breaking it down. Even if they have 90 million in cap i dont expect them to signed high priced free agents. Id rather seem them getting the cap under control and do bargain shopping and a have a big draft class to gear up for 2027

Bingo. That's why I've said that the closest comparison to what the Dolphins face is what Jimmy Johnson stepped into in 1989. A franchise that was bereft of talent aside from Irvin and Walker. A franchise where there was no real free agency (aside from Plan B) to attempt to supplement rookies.

The Dolphins will have to be rebuilt through the draft, and the draft almost exclusively alone.

Assuming there are no trade downs, I could see the Dolphins draft going like this:

Honestly if they win more games and fall from the top Qb's, I'm open to them selecting the bpa with Caleb Downs. He appears very self aware, smart guy and a dawg which is what this team needs more of! He's getting Polamalu comparisons...

Love down but can’t do safety as our top pick without getting something else. Cool with Downs but would like to trade down and grab a 2nd or 3rd if downs is who your taking.

The major question is the quarterback position. Two teams currently picking in front of Miami, New Orleans and the New York Jets, need a quarterback. Is it Mendoza and Moore 1-2? Or do both teams like the quarterback prospects in 2027 better?

Does Miami go quarterback if one of those two fall?

Will Tua be a bridge quarterback, or will Miami do what Denver did with Wilson?

Mendoza surely will be one of the top 2 picks.

I’m kind of relieved Miami won’t be in a position to draft Mendoza. 2027 is the year to draft a QB IMO. Get the best OT or pash rusher. Build from the inside out for a change.

Cutting Hill and Chubb will add to the dead cap, but it actually frees up more cap space in 2026. Just by cutting Tyreek and Chubb, post 6/1, they’d get almost $50m in cap savings in 2026.

I am leaning towards trading down and stock piling draft picks. Hopefully the next GM will select the right players to rebuild this roster.

Then draft a QB in 2027. We could have a high draft pick then too since we will probably stink next year.

I still think Arch Manning is going to be very good and he looks like he is going to return to college next year.
U probably would need number 1 pick to get Arch. Still no guaranteed u will get him in 2027.
