He just named an assistant and executive to watch who will be getting new bigger jobs in 2017....and Vance Joseph was the assistant.

We can't buy a break...couldn't we have gotten one more season out of a guy thats only been a DC for one year?

If so, props to Vance. Hope he does well if he is chosen as a head coach. Gase is the core of this team and he chose Vance to lead his defense. I'm quite sure he will find an adequate or better replacement.

No way!

Really don't want to loose a coach right now but it does say one thing. Even though the media gives us no respect. The people in the NFL recognize what the Dolphins were able to do as special.

We have at least 12 more months with Vance unless he gives the best interview of all time

Yeah I would think so too. I find this talk of him being a head coach premature but who knows...

the next few weeks will be telling for Vance. If the Jills score 20+ on us then his stock will flatten. If we get into the playoffs and the D shows up against some quality playoff opponents I think he could end up as HC somewhere. I like him a lot but maybe we can keep him with a raise of sorts for another year or so.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of a guy who goes from position coach to DC/OC to HC after only one year as a DC/OC. Joseph is certainly an impressive coach and person, but I think these writers are underestimating the jump in responsibilities. VJ would likely call defensive plays for whatever team he coaches, and that's an extra responsibility. Since the preseason, I felt VJ wouldn't be in Miami for long, but I'd question any team that offers him a HC job in 2017, and I'd question VJ's perspective if he accepted a HC offer.

Watch...Cincy will fire Marvin Lewis and replace him with Vance Joseph. No coincidence that Jackson and Joseph left and the Bengals went into the tank this season. Plus Lewis, though making the playoffs the past 5 seasons, has never won a playoff game (0-7). Have to think the problem is him and they were winning, in spite of him, because of the staff that was around him.

This is so annoying. Can we have more than one season please?

I guess I'm in the minority here but I don't see why everyone loves VJ. Our D plays that soft zone nearly every play. Our rush D is awful. i love what Gase and company are doing but I really think our D is highly overrated

Wait a minute now. Why would you question his perspective for accepting a HC gig? That is like the goal of any coach. If he feels it is the right situation and fit, then why not? That chance does not come around often.

I'm trying to imagine the hilarity of Vance Joseph becoming the next HC of the Bills, and the Fins replacing Joseph with...Rex Ryan.

He has to know, as an African American, he will have interviews/opportunities every single off-season due to the Rooney Rule. Maybe he wants to build something great here first?

Overrated? I don't think it is overrated. I am sure that every team knows by now how to attack us. Every team knows our strength is our d-line and that our two outside corners are good. The middle of the field is gold. Our ability to stop the run is below average. No smoke and mirrors here, we are what we are. Definitely not overrated.
