It seems that each and every year, the Dolphins get screwed by questionable penalties or blown calls. Against the Jets it seemed like every major penalty was against our team. The refs also missed some painfully obvious ones. The play that really stood out for me was the pass attempt in the end zone where the defender (I think Milliner) hit the receiver early. I also saw multiples times where Wake was held but there was not a penalty. Another play, a referee threw a flag for pass interference against the Jets, but after huddling with the other referees decided that the play was not pass interference. Replays showed that it was clearly pass interference. I am not trying to excuse the poor performance against the Jets, but instead to point out that the refs made it extremely difficult to even have a chance in this game. These calls likely didn't change the outcome of the game but there have been several games where the officials questionable calls have affected the result of the game. I know that we aren't the only team to get screwed this year. The Steelers lost a chance to go to the playoffs because the referees missed several blatantly obvious call in the Chiefs vs. Chargers game. The league needs to make these referees accountable for bad calls. Defenders get fined for "illegal" hits and so why are referees not held accountable for their bad calls?

i definately hear ya... there should be some accountability with thr refs very bad calls, but man... its over, we need tp move on... to next year... again.... and again... and again

What's done is done. Time to move on. No use complaining about it.

I said this all season long, most damage was made in the first game vs the Pats and the game vs the Ravens.

If you don't complain then it will never get fixed. The OP s correct. Since there is no accountability teams losing games or
even missing playoffs will continue.

Fine, I will rephrase then:

There is no use complaining about it on a fan forum. The only way it will change is if the mainstream media makes a big deal out of it. Which there has been plenty of coverage so far about the bad officiating. Also, if you want to talk officiating, the NFL forum would be a better place for it. Otherwise it just comes off as looking to place blame elsewhere other than the team's shortcomings. And let's face it, this team wasn't able to take care of business when it should have. So we there is no one to blame other than the team. Hopefully we make the correct offseason cuts and acquisitions to move to the next level to where we can overcome bad officiating.

The Jets game questionable ref decisions were very minor compared to the first game against the Patriots up at Foxboro. We were on top in that game and playing like the better team when the refs got the call from Goodell or one of his boys to do what they could to make it a contest. Bad decision after bad decision after bad decision all went the Patriot way and the game swung very quickly. Brady went into rush mode and exploited it. I don't know if it was corrupt refereeing with big gamblers or direct NFL arm twisting but I will go to my grave believing that something happened. After the game the normally dour and non-communicative Belichick just wanted to talk about how the wind was blowing and how he learned about the wind affect from Bill Parcells from his old Giants days (Bill probably enjoyed the subtlety of his humor).
Similarly the Patriots Cleveland game, somewhere a call was made to influence the result and a string of ridiculously crazy calls at the end of the game all went the Patriot way.

There are ****ed up calls in every game...get over it...

Bad calls that go against the team you root for are always magnified and are the most important bad calls of the game. The bad calls that go in favor of the team you root for are always minimized as having little impact on the game, therefore, the fans of the opposing team shouldn't complain. You can read this same thread on every NFL team forum. Fans of every team think that their team is getting screwed by bad calls more than anyone else in the league.

Yes, it would be nice if the refs were perfect and never made a bad call. But refs are human, the game is faster than it's ever been, and therefore errors happen, perhaps more often than they did in the past.

The only real solutions I can think of that will have any significant impact would be to expand what is reviewable, add more refs on the field each game, and make refs full time employees so they have more time to practice their craft during the week. The first solution would result in longer game times. The last two would lead to higher ticket prices. Pick your poison.

Please stop, the officiating was fine. They missed calls both ways as they tend to do every game. The better team won on Sunday, the team that deserved to win. You scored 7 pts in the last 2 games w/ the playoff son the line, officiating had nothing to do w/ that.

I will agree the better team won, but the team that DESERVED to win? No team DESERVES to win. Please climb down off your high horse before you hurt yourself.

But the officiating in the first pats game and the ravens game was atrocious. The Ravens game made me actually SICK. 86 yards down to the 1 yard line for a touchdown off of two COMPLETELY nonexistant PI calls. Combine that with the fact that there's a pattern of us getting screwed over HARD by blatantly wrong calls against popular teams (steelers, saints to name two) over the years, and the fact that the Dolphins suck too much for anybody in the media to care, and I hardly feel like watching the NFL anymore.

*I really don't have any complaints about the jets game officiating.

the biggest call in the Pats game was correct though and you got outscored 24-0 in the 2nd half.

Baltimore I didn't see that particular drive but you had a chance late and failed.

Sometimes you have to overcome, in Atlanta late in the game we got a terrible call against us on a 4th down which would have ended the game, it gave Atl a 1st down and they scored to take the lead but we overcame going down the field for the GW FG. Sunday late in the half a terrible non call which would have set us up at the 1 but we overcame when geno ran it in.
