This is getting way out of hand. I guess Godell just singles out whom he wants too. Joey Porter just got fined 7,500 for trash talk in the Patriots game. I would really like to see a complete list of everyone the NFL has fined this season. Where does the money go also? Heres the link for those of you who have not seen this yet:

The money from fines goes to the NFL. It's as much a revenue generating thing as a disciplinary thing. I mean....I'm makeing 2.5 Mil a year. You fine me 7K? Yeah..Whatever...I spend that much on car washes.

If the owners and the players are upset at the ammount of power given to the COmmissioner, they only have themselves to blame.

This is bull, If your gonna fine people for trash talk in a game then you might as well fine almost EVERY PLAYER in the National Football League. I've seen games where the talk goes back and forth the entire time.

There has to be more to the story than just trash talk. Either that or this is one of the stupidest fines I've ever seen.

GB you may want to merge this I did not notice that Nubs had already started this same thread.

It a new NFL charity. It's called the Fin Fund. Its in the rule books - just added by the Competition Committee. Since EVERYONE know the bias against the Dolphins and the LOVE for the Patriots it only seemed right to start a fund to take excess cash off Dolphins players so they will play with less intensity lest the All-About-Brady & Favre show could be ruined.

Under the current By-laws, the fund will remain in effect until such time as the Dolphins are completely eliminated from playoff contention - or the players have no money left - whichever comes first.

This change was sponsored primarily by ESPN and NFL Merchandise. There are just too many Favre Jets jerseys to be sold. It could have bankrupted the league. We all understand.

Hopefully, the Dolphins will now "Play within Themselves" as they were expected to do. Bill Parcells proved the point that he knows how to turn around a franchise; but don't get too far ahead of yourself. Keep in mind Bill "It's not YOUR year" DUH!

Parcells is deliberately keeping a low profile at the moment because he must be careful. Everyone knows his no-nonsense demeanor, where he could say something here that could be interpreted as "Verbal Abuse" and get fined. God forbid you back chat while someone has you by the hair & punching you in the head while you're just trying to get out of the situation.

It's a PATRIOTS player for Goodness Sake! You're just supposed to TAKE it like a MAN!

Dolphins fans will see this and understand the sarcasm.
Patriots fans will not.

Goddell is setting a standard. Whether you agree with or not. I don't agree with what he's doing with fining and suspending guys left and right. Though when guys act like idiots it does look badly upon the league.

If I see Joey Porter on the side walk asking to spare change then i'll be worried about him getting fined.

If that is true that he is trying to set a standard. Why would you wait till week 12 to start it? If you are going to set a standard then why dosnt the standard apply equally to everyone across the board?
